Crossing Pensylvania E to W

Leaving Wednesday from New Jersey to arrive at the Birthday Bash Near Slippery Rock around July 3. So We have time to see the sights in Pennsylvania. Any Suggestions? Noted the thread on Swallow Falls Md -- a little detour is fine with us. Any favorites in the National Forest? Thanks

Like Bluegrass?????

I help run O.A.T.S. ( Out among The Stars ) Bluegrass Festival in Benton Pennsylvania, and it is going to be on the weekend before the fourth of July.
A great deal for four days of camping and music. Check out the website. I'll post the link.

By the way.....

Lots of covered bridges in the area, if you like that kind of nostalgia.

In the eastern part of the state Hawk Mountain is a nice place to go. I have been there many times. Tons of trails and great views. Also near Somerset PA is The Quemahoning Family Recreation Area. We are camping there this weekend. We love it there it is quiet and off the beaten path.

Pretty country in and near Benton.
Gettysburg is always a good choice too.
