No offense intended but your friend is, to put it lightly and kindly, a fool( I would use stronger words if it it did not break the "be kind" clause of this forum). Yellowstone is a national park. The Grand Canyon is a national park, Glacier is a national park. Yosemite, Big Bend, Everglades, Antitem, the USS Arizona in Hawaii, and the freakin Statue of Liberty, these are just a few. Can you or "your friend" explain how they are welfare? I, as a tax payer, and someone who seeks out national parks find that statement to be absurd.

I was thinking of a witty comeback, but that statement doesn't even deserve serious thought. I'm sure you thought you had a reason for posting that. Please elaborate (or not).

I'd make new friends! I prefer national and state parks for, I don't know...camping? I love the lakes and the scenery and you can't always get that in a RV campground. You friend sounds a little misguided and I am glad my taxes go to them. Care to pass the Grey Poupon?

If that is how he truly feels, you may want to reevaluate your relationship with that individual. You do have a "wheeled Porta-Potty" sitting in your driveway, after all.

State parks have too many rules. I can break half of the rules by the time I get settled in. I just don't care for the nonsense.

Human nature being what it is, sounds like he's sublimating this:
