I hope I did not imply any Texas bashing in my earlier posting. I certainly did not wish to convey any such ideas. I'm an outsider when I visit Colorado also so I meant no such thing. I only meant that Lake City was busy when we were there and there were many Texans looking to cool off, just as we were. We all were there for the same reason. To get out of the head back home. Only Texas being so much larger than New Jersey has a lot more heat to escape from. You know what I mean. Everything is big in Texas. And the higher elevations of Colorado are a welcome break from the eastern heat and humidity too.

Roger, NJ gets enough abuse from NY, so you'd better not take on Texas too.
Did you know before the Revolution, there were two colonies, East Jersey and West Jersey? East Jersey should have been made part of NY and W. Jersey part of Pa., but somehow a mistake seems to have been made.
Seems like all the possible campgrounds have been named. Everybody can insult a neighboring state now.

OK Gene, thanks, I get it. We have a city in New Jersey named West New York, go figure. Actually I'm a New Yorker, I just live here. I once saw a map that showed New York going all the way west to around Michigan. I've heard about East Jersey and West Jersey but didn't know they were to go to NY and Pa. Colonial history is fascinating.

I could have made that last part up.
William Franklin, illegitimate son of Ben, was governor of one of the Jerseys, or maybe both. He was a Tory during the Revolution and had to remove himself.

A nice Commercial Park
Although there are several states left to be bashed, I thought I would mention this very nice RV Park in Creede.
Mountain Views At RiversEdge RV Resort & Park - Creede, Colorado
We stayed there a few years ago. and it was very pleasant place.

It's more of a "luxury resort" catering to "big buses" with time-share/owner occupied lots than a campground IMO.
LOVE the town of Creede though...would just opt for camping somewhere else.

Mtn. Views got high-mediocre reviews at RV Park Reviews.
Creede is one of those mountain towns where the mines are played out, and the locals are characters. We ate in a sandwich shop—good sandwiches—across from the theater in the early '00's. I think there is a mine tour and a drive around the mining area (not for trailers!). It is situated in canyon off the broad Rio Grande Valley.
After the state bashing ends, can we bash provinces next?

OK why not. We're off to Quebec next week. I'll let you know when we get back. Haven't been there in a long time but we always enjoyed our visits over the years.
