Cowgirl Cooking?

So I'm finally attempting to cook in the Lodge Dutch Oven! I've watched the videos, scoured Pinterest, and read the recipes. Now we wait. Short ribs or P, B & J? Stay tuned!

I don't know if I would cook on a wooden table...even with the pan underneath it. But other than that... go for it. I have been cooking with DO's for over 40 years. I thought I was good, then my son came along... He does things like deep dish lasagna, red velvet cake, brunswick stew, and whole roast chickens. Put his old man to shame!

We currently own 5 or 6 DO's. There is a huge thread on here somewhere about Dutch Oven cooking.

Definaty not on a wooden table. At best you'll scorch table, worse, having to extinguish a fire.

Low and slow. For short ribs, I'd be inclined to do toes for about three hours @ 275

Wow! This works great! And the table went unscathed to boot! (We had double sheet pans...)
