Coming down the mountain to the Texas Gulf Coast to bird watch at Aransas, stare at salt water again and EAT SEAFOOD. Know routes but would appreciate restaurant recommendations - not fancy just good seafood, the type of laid back places that are so common in New Orleans and all of Louisiana. Also good campground recommendations - there are so many in the area that it is confusing. Also fresh seafood markets as I do know how to cook that wonderful stuff.

Snoopy's, on Padre Island. I ate there just last month while I was at the WBCCI Mid-Winter IBT. It's right next door to another seafood restaurant (Doc's, I think it's called) that we didn't eat at.

Just got back from a week of birding near Corpus. Highly recommend Leonabelle Turnbull Birding Center in Port Aransas. Ducks and spoonbills (lots of them) tame enough to get great pics. Campground at Goose Island SP is wonderful. Live oak trees everywhere and whooping cranes too.
Have a fun trip!!! Our son works on Port Aransas and there are several nearby places where you can find 'good' seafood restaurants... especially those who purchase 'local' fishermen's catch.

Best restaurant - Venetian hot plate. Sicilian/Tuscan cooking. Must see- The Gaff. Really great pizza too. Go to north padre island to Scuttlebutts. Great specials and the best seafood.
