Colleton Campground SC

Has anyone ever stayed at the Colleton State Park in South Carolina?
The reason I ask is I just looked at it for the first week in June 2013 and the place is empty.

Looks like a good place to kayak the Edisto River from but the lack of reservations has me asking.

Haven't stayed there but have visited. Seems to be pretty well kept up.
My impression was that it was mostly locals that go there to raft down the river (with their beer raft).
It is kind of off the beaten path. Most out of town visitors would come on down to Charleston.

we have used this park as a way point going south from NC.
site 15, i think, is a pull thru and handy for just a night.
not too far from I-95. quiet, nice ranger, host came right over to say hello & hawk landed on tree above us as we talked. right on river--locals fishing.
only downside is that it is near a power plant--you cannot see it, but there is a constant hummmmm. bathrooms fine. hope this helps.
