Cody, WY
What a beautiful area. We stayed 7 days in Cody and we could go back tomorrow. Just a wonderful place to be and lots of things to see. The Buffalo Bill Historical Center is a must. The admission price is for 2 days and yes, it does take 2 days to see everything inside the center. There is a historical village with a collection of historical building from all over the State. You have to go to the Irma Hotel to see the gunfight. When we were there the lady who played Clamandy Jane stole the show. There was a rodeo ever night during the summer. We do volunteer work at the San Antonio rodeo and it was fun for us to attend an open air event. That's how all the rodeo's use to be.

Hi,
We've been to the Buffalo Bill Cody Historical Center also..just fell in love with all of the different sites as well as the whole area to see..and 2 days was not enough for me to see what I wanted to see..I went back a third time!..I would certainly recommend a trip to the museum.

Codybear, we were very lucky in that we stayed in each area for at least 7 days. I could live in Cody with no problem.

Hi Gaylejoe,
When we went to Cody, (on our way to Wisconsin and through about 13 states total) we stayed just outside of Cody at a campground, so it was easy to drive back and forth..trouble is, after a while, I forgot the names of all the campgrounds we camped at over the month's trip..We had lunch at the Irma Hotel..have you ever been to Tombstone and/or Bisbee?..we just got back from there a couple of weeks ago..that was terrific too..especially if you're into Wyatt Earp and also the dvd's that are out there w/Kevin Costner and Kirk Russell..Sacramento has an Old Town very similar to Tombstone and Bisbee..

The firearms museam has the largest collection of guns I have ever seen. It took me one whole day just to go through that wing alone.

We too, visited Cody in our travels this summer. We loved the rodeo!!! We went two nights in a row. Our seven year old daughter participated in the chase for the ribbon on the calf. It was a hoot. Of all the places we've visited in the last four months on the road she always says Cody was her favorite.
I made a cute video of the
If that link doesn't work just go to my website:
watch and learn and look in the videos from the road archive under "Cody Night Rodeo"

We stayed in the hotel. I don't know what the deal is, but we didn't have reservations and they let us stay in Col. Cody's personal suite. It's right above the bar and has roof access. Wasn't very expensive either.
That was 4-5 years ago.

Cody Campground
John,
We like the Absaroka CG on the east side of Cody, on the road in from Greybull WY. Clean and well maintained. . . we've known the owner for many years, and his crew does a great job. Total hookups, paved roadways, gravel parking, grass site. . . all pull-thrus, and clean showers and laundry. Enjoy your time in Cody. It's a great little city.
