My trailer is a Classic 30.
Very similar floor plan, but the 28 has an extra wardrobe and no dinette.
If the dinette is not important, the 28 is a great floor plan. After all, it has 2 fold out tables by the couch.

Classic 28'

I like my classic 28'. I was looking for a 25' when I found it but I do like the extra length, still pulls like a smaller trailer compared to SOBs. I miss the dinette, but I have room for a small recliner. The queen bed is sideways, a little difficult for me to walk around the bed with the cabinet overhead, not a problem for my short wife. I like the bathroom arrangement, seems like good use of the available space.

We only use the sofa bed when the grandgirls come along with us. At times it would be nice to have a bunkhouse with bunkbeds for the girls but that takes a bigger trailer than we want to pull. As noted, we have a small size rocker recliner, the couch is quite comfortable to set on with a footstool and pillows. We also have folding wooden chairs when needed.
Check you PM for more info!

We have a Classic 28' with twin beds and are full-timers. First thought pulling a 25' might be more manageable but the extra room is nice. We don't have the dinette which not sorry about..don't like booths. Our tables are great and yes we use the sofa a bunch for sitting. I have a reading back cushion on my bed so sometimes read there when inside. Very roomy and manageable plus have a Springer Spaniel 50 lbs so room for dog bed.

Enjoy whatever you chose!

Get a Classic 30'.

It is the best floor plan Airstream ever came up with. You get a great bed, a great dinette, and a great couch. No need to comprise. We have had 10 folks inside for dinner on a crappy night. I sit at the dinette for breakfast, then take a nap on the couch.

If you can't tell, I REALLY like it!

The Classic 28 is the best floor plan ever. I changed the crosswise queen to twins and the couch to two recliners with a custom cabinet I built across the front. I don't have a booth and I don't want a booth. We have two $10 folding bamboo tables for use with bigger meals when we can't eat outside. Snacks, we simply hold in our laps.

The best thing is the walk-through bathroom with 2 good-sized wardrobes. We travel with 3 cats and the litter box sits in front of the shower without being in the way.

The 28 is the best compromise of having enough storage for longer stays while still being easy to pull. It replaced our former Classic 25. We have 2 friend couples who have bought 28s to replace longer Airstreams after seeing ours and wouldn't go back to the longer lengths.

So the 28' is "the best floor plan ever", as long as you change half of it!

I also think the 30 is the best floor plan Airstream makes.
I had chosen the 30 even when the 34 was still available.
I wish they would make the 34 again with a walk through bath. That would tempt me to trade.

I really only changed 1/4 of it from a standard 28. I preferred to buy one with twins, but a queen was available at a good deal. My bedroom is like a twin 28 from the factory.

As far as the recliners, I would change any model out there that has room for recliners. Unfortunately, only one model is available from the factory with recliners.

What makes the Classic 28 the best is the walk-thru bathroom with much more wardrobe space than the 3' longer 30s. Of the two models with this bathroom, the 28 wins out

I agree with the point you make about the extra wardrobe space. I like my dinette, though.
So, let me re-phrase:
The 30 is the best floor plan Airstream makes -for me-

If they made the 28 in 2013 I would have considered it strongly.
After all you still have the folding tables.

I sleep on the sofa every night because I snore (wife ran me off).
I don't bother to fold it flat.
It is very comfortable.

You might be right. I'll think about it as I sit in my dinette.

How many does yours sleep?

Me?
I have the same trailer as you.
Airstream says 6, but I say 2.1- me, my wife, and an 11# cat.

Sorry, that question was for Pahaska. We had power outage at work a minute ago. Screwed me up!

I will agree that I would like a little more closet space. There really isn't a good place to hang wet coats. But, I rather have the dinette with the wine storage drawers underneath!

I've got an older Soveninger also, that thing has more closets than my house!
