Christmas in an Airstream....

Who's done it, will do it or has plans in the future to do it?

I have, the year 1975; the place, Welaka, Florida on the St. Johns River north of Lake George, just down the street from the old (now non-exsistant) Sportsmans Lodge where (as I remember) many a fishing tournaments were held. I was 15 at the time in the same AS I have now. If the AS ever gets "tail sag" it will be from memories, not neglect! Our Christmas tree was outside (duh!!) and decorated as was the awning with lights. Mom and Dad were quite sneaky about hiding gifts as my grandparents and great uncle and aunt were there also. (In their AS's as well). Plenty of hiding places! That's my Airstream Christmas. Oscar

Wonderful memories

Closest I ever came was New Year's Eve in my old SOB trailer, a Scamp 5th wheel. A good bottle of wine and fireworks going up all around us. A great way to spend a holiday.

Does a Christmas Party count???

This next Saturday, the 7th, I am having our Open House/Christmas Party & an Art Showing for a friend in our 1,175 square foot office, yes it's tiny, but there's just the two of us "officing there" right now.

We have invited 400 friends & clients, hopefully not everyone shows up at once! Anyway, we don't have a "kitchen" per se, sooo...we are dragging Maxwell out of storage to help with the catering duties.

Of course, we'll decorate him with festive lights & pink flamingos to go with the vintage aluminum tree & color wheel while Bing Crosby & Johnny Mathis croon Christmas Carols in the background!

A light snow would be the icing on the cake....but it's not in the forecast for Saturday....oh well!

Shari

P.S. Here's our tree from last year...

Gettin' the itch!

One of my best friends spend Christmas in their SOB motorhome at Nettles Island, near Stuart, FL. He said he could get us a spot down there, but the wife works in retail, so getting time off at Christmas is next to impossible. Our neighbors are down at thier home on Marco, but are coming back North for a "White Christmas". I think I'd stay down there! Tommorrow night's forcast low is 7!

shari, i was just talking to my wife about opening the curtains on the trailer. and then putting my 5' tall lit plastic santa inside the trailer...

she said it would be craptacular!

santa is staying in the second story window of my carrige barn.(lit of course) this year any way.

sounds like your party would be lots of fun.

I think any little kids driving by would get a big kick out of Santa in an Airstream...oh well, I guess it's the barn this year...."'Cause if momma ain't happy, ain't nobody happy!"

Shari

BTW I like "craptacular" I may have to borrow that sometime!

Here's a thought...

Santa and his reindeer, mounted on the top front radius of the AS and an aluminum chimney (painted like one) on the 14x14 vent! Add the lights and a tree, YES!!!! Clark Grizwald at your service! Santa couldn't possibly miss that set-up! Oscar
