Charlotte NC Campground

While it's not that far away, we have never camped in Charlotte NC. We have our first grandchild on the way in Charlotte and would like to have a recommendation on a nice campground in the Charlotte area to stay when the baby arrives.

Congratulations!

Will you be trying to stay near any particular hospital or neighborhood?

HI,

When I went to Charlotte last week for training, I notice about 3 on Speedway blvd near the Charlote Speedway. All of them looked very nce, but I could not tell you for sure if they are, or prices.

I would imagine the ones out near the speedway are probably nice. She lives in town and I think will be at Presbyterian Hospital.

The campgrounds out by the speedway (Tom Johnson, for example) would be OK, assuming that there's not a race or other event that would reduce availability / increase prices. Not much more than gravel parking lots from what I've seen, but since you're not really here to 'camp', they're on your side of Charlotte and they wouldn't be too far from downtown and Presbyterian Hospital.
