Charleston SC Urban Campground?

Hey,

I am securing some land in the downtown area of Charleston, SC for us to camp near the harbor and in the downtown area. Land Yacht Harbor Charleston! It would be an urban environment, but I will work to make it a unique and fun form of Camping. Something Wally would be proud of. I love Charleston and want to see if Airstreams can make a mark on the city for years to come.

If I get the City's permission to set this up, would anyone like me to let them know where they can come and camp in downtown Charleston?

Only wish you could have it in place this year, as we plan to spend a few days in Charleston on our way back north from Florida in late March!

I certainly would be interested in future years! Hope it all works out!

We LOVE Charleston, and particularly like Edisto Beach SP just south of there, but it would be wonderful to have a spot in town.

Keep us posted.

I would certainly spend a lot of time there. I'm only a couple of hours away, so it would be an ideal weekend getaway. If you need a hand with construction or anything else, let me know.

Go for it! and see if they will allow longer term. I end up in CHS for a year or so at a time, every couple of years. Currently I am here until end of March then pulling out for Richmond, VA then back to Iowa City. (AFTER THE SNOW MELTS!)

Currently my AS is undergoing a multi-year 120 step rehab I might be a bit more motivated if I had a nice place to park it for a bit in the Holy City.

Land Yacht Harbor Charleston, SC

Thank you friends! We will be working hard to get this going and have been for nearly 2 months now. Land Yacht Harbor Charleston may even be at a basic operating level by the end of February! Looks like we will get a few spots to start (between 5 and 10) as a test run with the City of Charleston's blessing.

Again thank you for your support and I will keep everyone posted.

Way to go Nic! I'm looking forward to spending a few nights in your area soon.

Keep me informed as to your progress and what amenities you'll have to start.

Good luck with your venture.

Charleston is one of my favorite places except for the summer! I hope this works out and please put us on your list! What can we do to help "sell" the idea to the city?

Nic, I'm sure others have wondered... are you by chance planning an Airstream exclusive park?
