Central Florida Campgrounds Ichetucknee Springs Family Camp Ground

Hello all,

Over Easter Weekend we had the pleasure of staying at Ichetucknee Springs Family Campground. It's a smaller family run camp ground with full hookup RV sites, cabins, and tent sites. The sites were a ok size, no breaks in between so if feels a little close. The draw of this camp ground is Ichetucknee Springs. The camp ground is across the street from the state park head spring, and there is a really nice tubing trail.

The camp owners were very nice, the older store was well stocked, and there is free wifi at the store.

A little more information on the camp ground. The RV sites were about $24 per night, and the cabins were $50 per night.

The camp store also rents tubes, canoes, kayaks, and inflatable boats. The have a drop off/pick up service.

You can canoe or kayak from the head spring to south entrance to the state park. Or you can drive down to the south entrance and use the tubing trail. If you do both legs it's about a 2 hour tubing trip. I'll add pics of the tubing once I get them up loaded.

They are easy to get into and you can scope them out on reserveamerica.com. They will have photos and max vehicle length. They have some decent mountain biking trails as well. Here is an interactive map of all the state parks in FL. It is not a short bike ride from park to park. The FL state parks web sight it not that great. No where did I find a link to the bike path information.

Thank you Silver Flame for sharing about this area. Ichetucknee Springs is a fountain of youth! We always feel great after a swim in the head springs. We bought land in the area and are starting an organic farm. www.deepspringfarm.com
Will be living there full time in May 2015. Our vision is to have a couple pods on the property for silver RVers to visit. Not so many people know about the beauty of this area, I think because it is not on the beach.
About the bike path, it is possible to bike from O'Leno SP, to Iche SP, all the way to the Suwannee R (Branford)
I call the area North Central FL (Gainesville/Lake City) rather than Central (Ocala/Orlando).

Yes, I would say North Central Florida is a better description. It's a great area, and wanted to share this little gem!

Wow! How cool is that! We wind up in the area periodically, for river kayaking trips. We'd love to check out your scene sometime.

If you're looking for something to grow, what about true pasilla and shishito peppers? Can't find 'em anywhere in S. Fl.
