Campsite near Cleveland Ohio?

My son is attending a event just outside of Cleveland this weekend and I thought it would be a great chance to try out a spot there. Any suggestions? I see some State parks with limited full hook-ups.

Cleveland campground

We recently stayed in a koa campground in Streestboro south of Cleveland. Wife got to check off the rock and roll hall of fame from her bucket list. The area was great. Chipotle restaurants everywhere. And the best mcdonalds restaurant I've been to in a long time in Hudson, a town just a few miles away from the koa.

We've twice stayed at West Branch State Park for Cleveland visits. It's a bit out from Cleveland but very nice and relatively inexpensive. There's just not much closer in.

Your search may come up with Camp Wahoo in Avon. Do not consider it. It is basically a full time bar with optional housing (trailers).

Also note the Cuyahoga County Fairgrounds has camping available in Berea. That's about as close as your going to get. Cuyahoga County Fair - Berea, OH - Cleveland, OH

DanB is right. American Wilderness is okay in a pinch, but there are closer locations depending on what you are looking for. Some folks in the area may have courtesy spots as well, but I believe they are filled for this weekend. The one in North Ridgeville is closed is my understanding now. It sits between the turnpike & railroads.

Normally, we would invite you to come and stay with us. We are just sw of Cleveland and offer courtesy parking with full hookups. However, we will be camping elsewhere. Let us know when you return to our area. We would love to meet you!

Larry&Lou,
Thats very nice of you. My son is attending a DEVO convention and I am using this as a excuse to take out my 75 Soverign. If there is another one next year, just might take you up on the offer.

There are a number of Airstreamers who live nearby and we have quite a little camping group going here in our area. Let us know when you come through and we will organize a backyard picnic/campout!

We hope that you will have time to take in the sights around Cleveland. You may like to visit the Rock and Roll Hall of Fame, or Cuyahoga Valley National Park. The William S. Mather is a Great Lakes ore freighter that has been turned into a museum. It is docked next to the Rock and Roll. The Cod a WWII submarine is near there too. The Women's Air and
Space
Museum is also at Burke Lakefront Airport, which is just a little further down the block. If you have time you can catch the Lolly the Trolley tour to see and hear the history of Cleveland. And if you want a nice ride out into the lake/down the Cuyahoga River, you could take a tour on the Goodtime II.

Lou

We have stayed at Pier Lon campground which wasn't too bad. A bit off the beaten path but quiet.
Family Camping in Medina, Ohio - Pier-Lon Park

We have also stayed at Loudruff place - courtesy parking - highly recommended

I stayed at the fairgrounds in July and it is a grassy area enclosed with fence and it has water, sewer, and electric 30 amp and 50 amp also, all for 30 bucks a night. I would stay again.

Regards,

Reganzo
