Camping recommendations/ Sequoia/ Kings Canyon

Looking for campground recommendations in or near Sequoia/ Kings Canyon for a family trip this July, private or public.

Will be camping with my wife 2 dogs and my daughters family with 3 tweens. We are first going to Yosemite and will be staying at a private campground. My daughter will be renting a yurt. So that stage of the trip is planned. We will also have a tent for my daughter & family if needed.

Also any must do recommendations?

Last July we stayed at Sequoia Ranch RV Park just outside the main entrance to Sequoia National Park. It was being renovated, but very nice. I would expect it to be even nicer by now.

BTW.... We stayed at Indian Flats just outside Yosemite. It was the closest campground to the entrance to Yosemite. It was the tightest sites I have ever seen. Gravel and very difficult to navigate. We picked one of the easier sites to get into.

See for yourself....

I stayed in the Park (Kings), my recommendation is to get as far into the park as you can get your camper (the road linking the two is a pain) to get high and centrally located as possible.
