Fascinating. Many choices, but have to plan so far in advance.

There is a state park in St Augustine that is really nice. Anastasia Park. No sewer but water and electric with dump station on the way out. It sits behind the dunes so you have the best of both worlds. Woods and ocean. If you haven't been to St augustine, it's a great place to visit. Lots to do. I agree with Panama Red if your wish is to be right on the beach.
Jetty park in Cape Canaveral is right on the beach also. You can watch the cruise ships come and go from your Zip Dee chair.

A few more:
Fort Clinch Sate Park north of Jacksonville. Some sites just behind the dune lines others a short drive away. Nice park several AS there when we camped there Last year. Great fishing pier
Anastasia SP St Augustine No waterfront short drive inside the park to beach also Kayaking and canoeing inside the park. Nice park have camped there.
Jetty Park Port Canaveral. No ocean front but great walking access to the beach. Inside the port on the inlet. Watch the ships cruise in and out, Warning must like ships horns in the AM if the weather is foggy. Ask me how I know
Long Point Brevard County park Sabastian Inlet . Near the beach on water riverside. Warning we looked here on a weekend and it looked like an anything goes park complete with inflatable waterslides and park as many cars and boat trailers as you can fit on your site or any where near by We passed on this one.
Sebastian Inlet State Park (don't confuse with Sebastian river SP). Not on the ocean but within walking distance. on the inlet nice views. river access for boating.

Hey Beach Bum. Have you been to outdoor resorts in Melbourne? It sits in between the river and the ocean. Very nice. 3 pools, one on ocean, one on river other in the middle. Has boat ramp for river. Beach is very private. Not full of giant hotels. All paved sites and nicely landscaped.

Have not stayed there. But know the Melbourne Beach to Sebastian Inlet area well. Nice area a lot less crowded than most areas on the Atlantic coast of FL. We try to stay in state or federal parks when they are available.

You mean something like this...
That's Beverly Beach... Awesome spot! I also can give a hearty second to Anastasia, Ft Clinch, St Joe and one of my new favorites, Topsail Hill Preserve. All great state parks, and quite a bit cheaper than Beverly, but not RIGHT on the water like this...
-Red, planning his next visit...

Hey Becky, we'll be right down the beach from you for the entire month of November 2015. We'll drop by and say hi.

Y E S !!!!
That was (your photo from a previous post) the photo inspiration that put it on the bucket list. I spent the better part of a day google earthing the coastline looking at cool beaches and aircamping possibilities.
(Red being blamed yet again for something he didn't know he did)
Thank you for reposting the inspiration.

We just finished 6 days at Greyton beach and it was awesome. The upper loop has full hookups and the lower loop is electric water only but on the water if you can find one on the outside. The kayaking was great and connected to the ocean. You can easily walk to the ocean as well. Also spent some time at Henderson Beach... campsites are not on the water, but a very easy walk to the gulf/ocean. Only real issue here was HWY 98 being close to the campground and hearing the car traffic. Very nice campground, excellent hosts and very clean.

A couple things about Anastasia park. Seems like the majority of campers there have been there many times before. All very friendly and knowledgeable. Also great little taco shack at the entrance to the park.
The St Augustine amphitheater is within walking distance and usually has some good bands there. We usually camp in the park whenever we go to a concert so we can just walk back home after the show.
That awesome salad at the Columbian restaurant in St Augustine is another reason to stay.
Will be stopping by the one in Sarasota when we go to Alumaflamingo.

Not yet mentioned:
Gamble Rogers S/P. Flaggler Beach.
Pros.
On the beach. Walk over dunes on boardwalk. Great beach and ocean. Small park very friendly. Clean and neat. Usually a sea breeze.
Cons.
Close to highway. Tuff to get reservations.
Currie Hammock S/P. Florida keys.
Pros.
One side of the loop fronts the ocean. Nice layout. You pretty much get the beach to yourself. Best of the S/P in the keys. Day trip to Key West.
Cons.
Ocean not great (typical keys). It can get too hot and humid to enjoy.

I've stayed at Bahia Honda on the water.
It's nice, don't get me wrong, but with the large size, inefficient older layout, traffic noise from the raised highway and well the old railroad bridge not really my idea of scenery I would encourage Currie Hammock or Long Key as two good alternatives.
