Talking Camping in the Smokies

Hi, we are going to be camping for a week in Pigeon Forge from Saturday July 21 to Sat July 28th and wanted to say if anyone is up that way, please stop by. After my last fiasco trying to set up a rally, I will not do that again , I thought if there were any other Airstreamers in the neighborhood, we could chat! We will be staying at Clabough's. It is 1/2 mile on Wears Valley rd from Pigeon Forge. Hope to see some of you there!

Have fun, We were just up there last week but stayed in a cabin for a family reunion. Just up for that campground is a smaller site offering nice pads and full hookups for sale. Ment to stop by and check on the prices but passed.

Lots to do in the Smokies - Enjoy...

I've heard good things about Clabough's in the past from members of Airstream list. That would be a nice trip I would like to make sometime in the future.

Tammy, enjoy your camping trip and and give us your reviews on the area. Unfortunately, my schedule won't allow me to camp the end of July, but I'm hoping to be up that way towards the end of September.

Here is a shot of our site from last July. The creek is not that senic so try for a larger pull through. I think we were the smallest trailer in the park! The sites were too small for my liking as the photo shows. You'll get to know your neighbors!
Traffic in Piegon Forge was horrible!

Last May I saw 4 Airstream trailers the night we stayed in the Elkhorn campground inside Great Smoky NP. I thought that unusual and it did not appear they were rallying because they were no way close together.

We caught it from you...cannot make it same time though.
Got us thinking it was time for another road trip...
Plus Bitmore sent out a email about summer concerts.

Biltmore Estate - Summer Events - Summer Evening Concerts

B-52s are going to perform for us there August 4th, so we decided to show up.

Were going to camp around Cherokee,
Either Smokemont or Bradly's August 2,3,4,5
Look us up if your in the mountains that weekend.

Going to see the Indian show too...
"Unto these Hills"

Have not seen since 1967, so will probably be much more scary.

Looking for You John and Tammy

Had hoped to meet you both and I hope all is well. Unless I missed seeing your coach, you weren't there on Sunday night July 23. I was there around 8 PM and did see a much older AS with a great polish shine. Maybe next time.

They were probably there, just a different year.
July 23 is Monday this year.

Plus the bear jams throw everything off schedule.

We had some problems, so we didnt get to leave on Saturday like we planned. We are leaving out in the morning. Did you meet Kern72? She has been there since Saturday. I would love to see the indian show. They have been talking about it for months on the radio. Looks cool! Maybe we will ride over there and see whats going on. Sorry I missed you. Are you still up there?

I Was There Sunday Evening 07-22

I had the date wrong. Sorry I missed meeting you. I only had a short visit to the area planned. Mom's health keeps me near her for the immediate future.
