Camping in Burlington VT

Hello,

I'm looking for a decent campground as close to Burlington, VT as possible. Any suggestions are much appreciated.

Thanks

I haven't stayed there, but there is a city campground pretty close to downtown.

Technomadia.com had a write up with the the last couple of years. We did drive through it and i would definitely give it a shot.

We stayed at a campground about 30 miles south, Smokerise. The people were very nice and the campground was clean.

Good Luck!

We spent a night there in the Shelburne Campground. They went out of their way to find us a tent site when they were full up. Even cut some brush so we could open the door.

The Shelburne Museum accross the road, however, is not pet friendly. We left and won't be back. Amazing how some organizations go out of their way to be obstructive instead of supportive. But that was our problem, not yours.

Hope you enjoy your stay. Pat

That's one reason that I leave my dog at home, she doesn't appreciate fine art.

Wondering if your research has disclosed any good finds, perhaps some new facilities?

Thanks,

Peter

The city campground is right on a multi-use trail. When I rode past it it looked pretty good.

If you want to go rustic and have generators make sure you look at the US Forest Service parks in the area.

Yes, and there are several nice State Park cg's around the state. https://vtstateparks.com I have had a great experience at the ones I've stayed at--very clean, quiet, and good staff. But no hook-ups.

Some of the lakes are having problems with blue-green algae which can be toxic for dogs (and they are looking into a link with ALS). Lake Carmi and northern Lake Champlain have been shut at times so please be aware of this if you bring dogs. usually it's more of an issue when temps are high though.

We really should have a Green Mountain Alumaloo (Phalluma? Falluma?)!!!

We will be staying at "El Casa De Petes" in November when we pick our 28RBQ up from Pete's RV. ;-)

Will the new Airstream already be winterized? Guessing that would be prudent.

Have fun!

Ah, a lovely view of all the RV's you didn't buy! Curious to hear about your experience with PRV as I live nearby but didn't buy mine there.

Best wishes! Very exciting!

I second that emotion. We were up that way this summer and cannot wait to go back!

I hope it’s not winterized as we will be using it for a few more weeks following picking it up. We live in southern Maine and have a history of mild Decembers. It takes me about 5 minutes to winterize a trailer, in case winter creeps up on us though.
