Camping Gulf Coast Texas
I live in west Texas and would like to camp on the coast somewhere this spring, any recommendations on a State Park or private camp ground with hook ups right on a beach?

Not in Texas, but…
If you don't mind traveling a little bit farther, you might check out Louisiana's Grand Isle State Park. Not quite right on the beach— you're not parking in the sand— but you'd only be a couple hundred feet away from the beach. Check out this link: Grand Isle State Park - Louisiana Office of State Parks

We stayed at the On the Beach RV park in Port Aransas -- very reasonable weekly and monthly rates, and you literally walked 20 feet and you were on the beach....loved the park and the people.

The Mustang Island State park is reasonable and they have primitive campsites right on the ocean if you want to go boonie.

There are no hookups on the beach, but they have a dump station and fresh water fill. So fun to be right there on the shore!
We have also stayed at Mustang Island SP, which is fine but unspectacular. It will give you your hookups but isn't near as pretty as the shore.

I almost hesitate to post this, but Check out the LCRA Matagorda bay Nature park. Full hookups right on the water. It is at the mouth of the Colorado river. Awesome fishing... lighted piers.

Ditto for Matagorda Bay Nature Park..one of our favorite places to camp. You can walk mile and miles of beach and fishing seems to be very popular. Another entertainment is the restaurant nearby where you can watch feedings of the feral hogs!
Check out Goose Island State Park in Rockport..water & electric but there are beach or wooded sites. Rockport is a fun town to explore.
Mustang Island is often very windy & if you like to clean sand out of your trailer for weeks that is the place to go.
Enjoy Texas, a great place to camp!

The nearby town of Palacios is worth a visit too. They have a huge number of shrimp boats that work out of that harbor and its the place to go to buy sacks of shrimp right from the boats. Lots of history in that area. The old cemetery in Matagorda is a good place to poke around...
I just love that area...
