There are no really good campgrounds in Ottawa. The two we use are Rideau Heights Campground and Wesley-Clover Campground. The first is old, rustic and offers 3 way hook-ups. There are no amenities beyond a pool. It is right in the city, on bike and bus routes so it is easy to get around. The other is newer but offers only water and electric. There is a pretty good dump station. Still no amenities except a mini-store. It is on the outskirts of the city but has good routes to down-town.
The short camping season here does not encourage investment in campgrounds with any hope of a reasonable return in a reasonable time frame.
There are a few other campgrounds in the area but they are very much like these two. Do not expect "resort" level here, but come and have a good time anyway. Ottawa is a beautiful city with much to see and enjoy. Well worth "roughing it" campground-wise!!
