Wonderful list Travelvet. We love Thai food, so that ticks one box and I did read that Artisan was a "must do". Just finding out more info on the olive/olive oil tastings, so I am giddy. I am predicting a lot of over-eating in our immediate future. Lucky you, what a lovely place to call home.

DH and I have been RVing for years (35 states or so) and Wine Country is absolutely one of the tidiest parks we have encountered.

I wish I had snapped a few more photos before dark.

We are in central California..traveled from Joshua Tree NP to Monterey. We stayed several nites at Morro Bay State Park $50 for electric/water. Very nice park & lots to see around that area. Went up Hwy 1 (beautiful/terrifying) & stayed at Big Sur CG. The state parks are dry camping & size limited to 27' or less.. but very beautiful. There is a brochure with all the California State Park info..but like you have found the website is less than helpful. Other state seem to have more complete websites about their state parks. If you have connections with military there are several military places along Hwy1..Lompoc, Monterey, etc. This is a gorgeous area & so much to see & explore. Have fun!

50 years ago Solvang was a quaint Danish community in a beautiful setting. They lost me soon after that when they started building windmills all over town. Windmills are Dutch, furgawdsake.

The Netherlands and Denmark are both low-lying agricultural countries on the windy North Sea and both have a history of using windmills for power.

The Dutch have raised windmills-as-tourist-attraction to a fine art. The Danes are more low key about theirs.
