Campground slightly east of Memphis

Anybody in the Memphis area have a suggestion for a good campground slightly east of Memphis somewhere in proximity to I-40. Will be passing through going east and have friends to see in the eastern part of Memphis (Cordova) so would rather have something headed out of town rather than having to go all the way north to Meeman (sp) or south to TO Fuller and would prefer to stay out of the whole Graceland scene. been there, done that.

We are looking for like the second or third week of June.

Thanks for any suggestions.

I have been looking for the same thing. The only one I have found is the Agricenter International Campground.

Agricenter International - 2010

I'll be very interested to see if you come up with anything better.

I saw that one reviewed and it got pretty mixed reviews. I'll let you know if I find anything.

Tom Sawyer's

I know it's on the wrong side of Memphis -- in fact it's in West Memphis, Arkansas -- but we found Tom Sawyer's to be one of the most unique parks in the country. You're inside the flood wall for the Mississippi.

I guess if could drag the AS around the world to the east far enough I would end up in west Memphis

Another Vote for Tom Sawyer's
We have not stayed tovernight there but checked it out when driving through. Very special. We've camped all along the Great River Road (points north of Memphis) and I have to say this river location is pretty spectacular. But I should also say that I love rivers. We spent a little time talking to the campground hosts and they were very nice and seemed to be most accommodating.

Thanks for chiming in dmoore

After Memphis the plan is to head east and meet our singer/songwriter son in Nashville and maybe go over to Knoxville. Any suggestions around Nashville and what's your thought about Great Smokey Mountains National Parks campgrounds, pulling a 23 Safari....

thanks
