Thumbs down Campground Review - Rollins Lake Resort

Rollins Lake Resort in Northern California - I would like to advise caution in considering this facility. The campground states that it has rules and regulations, but these regulations are not upheld. There are regular occurances of public nudity (during the daytime), large groups of teenagers promoting public sexual behavior and drug use. The defense that we receive from the campground is that they do not have the capacity to control the environment when their grounds are full.

I would definitely not recommend this campground for families. It may be perfectly suitable to a more rowdy crowd, but to be lulled into complacency by the "strictly enforced" rules and regulations, coupled by their no refund policy, is definitely something your customers should know in advance.

Which campground?

Sorry to hear about experience.. There are several campgrounds around the lake.. Was it Green Valley campground? Did they offer any suggestions when you complained? Have you tried to follow up with owner? If that is part of regular ambience, either owner is one of the rowdy crowd or would probably be surprised that local manager did nothing to discourage behavior. You sound unhappy enough you might also want to file complaints with Woodall and Good Sam for their directory editors...

I have camped for many years at Orchard Springs Camground at Rollins Lake in Colfax and have never seen any activity like you describe. You may have had a wild group next to you that could happen anywhere. Sorry you had a bad experience but it is one of my favorite places. Nice grassy spots on a tree covered hill overlooking a Sierra Foothill Lake.
