We are at Aspen Glenn RMNP this Wednesday and Thursday. Then moving to Kelly Dahl in the Arapaho National Forest through Sunday. Check on campground availability as soon as possible. We had a hard time finding any openings.

Spruce Lake

Estes Park, Co - Spruce Lake Campground taken from the top of nearby peak Photo Gallery

We have stayed at Spruce Lake the last 2 years. It is a nice campground on the Big Thompson river. I have an aerial view picture and a review somewhere on this site.

They Have two other campgrounds, one is just up the road and it has pull through sites. One is down the hill in Loveland, it has big trees.

Spruce lake is convenient to the National park and Estes and is within walking distance to a grocery store. Many of the sites do not have trees and I think they are all back ins unless there is no one behind you.

July 4 and 5

I will be staying a several days in Estes Park followed by a week in Breckenridge. However, due to making reservations late, I do not have anywhere to stay on July 4 and 5. Any suggestions? (Estes Park or Breckenridge areas or in-between hopefully).

We have been at Spruce Lake Campground for the last week. Few trees but nice amenities in s beautiful location. Elk in campground almost daily. Short drive to RMNP. One more week and back to the heat.

It is tough at this time of the year. We're booked for July 4th and practically so for the whole of July. (In truth, I wish we could just pack up and join you elsewhere, but, well, work awaits here -- and the polishing job on the Airstream is progressing, but slowly.)
