Campground recommendation in Las Vegas?

We have about a week of work in the Las Vegas area and need a good RV park recommendation. Thanks in advance-

Pap

Hi Pap,

We have stayed twice at this one

Great Promotions and Money Saving Packages at Oasis Las Vegas RV Resort

It is quite convenient to the "Strip," you could walk it in a pinch, although they do run regular shuttle buses, probably your best bet - It was a few years ago we were there last, but I think the shuttle just cost you a tip to the driver.

Its a beautiful campground and the facilities are amazing - gated entrance in a decent area, individual washrooms, great pool, etc.

The last time we were at Vegas, we stopped at a different spot and saved a few $$ but it wasn't worth it, it was further from the strip, you had to drive and park (Although we have never had problems finding a free parking spot very close to the casinos).

Worst though, it was not in the greatest area of town and several of the permenant residents warned us against walking outside the RV park, or even leaving anything of any value unsecured on our campsite!

Have fun and don't gamble away your kids inheritance!

Brian.

Actually my work is in Primm, Nevada at Whisky Pete's but I am not there to gamble. I just thought there would be better RV sites in the Las Vegas area. I'd just as soon not be close to the strip if possible. I know alot of casinos have RV parks and that's an idea, but not necessary.

I second the Oasis Las Vegas RV Resort. It is at the south end of the strip and a straight shot to Primm. We held the WBCCI Region 12 Rally there in 2007. Since then my wife and I spend the July 4th weekend there in the Airstream (we don't have a pool at home). Great people with plenty of activities, cafe, remodeled restrooms etc.

Another suggestion is for Nipton, Ca. It's probably 20-25 minute drive to Primm. I'm sure they have spots but for particulars go here: www.nipton.com

If you need more info than what's on their website send me a PM.

I like the Oasis, stayed there and enjoyed it. Circus Circus KOA is most convenient to the strip.

But if you're working at Whiskey Petes, why not check about the employee (?) RV park across the street at Buffalo Bills. It appears to be a standard RV park which at one time was open to the public, but now just private rentals. At least on a glance it looked OK.

another vote for The Oasis....it's the ONLY place I'll stay when I take the A/S to Vegas.

Sams Town is not on the strip - but has free shuttle coach's on a regular cycle to several Casinos on the strip - is a great Casino on its own - and is less pricey than other sites in town.
