Campground Near Lynchburg, TN

Has anyone stayed in a campground near Lynchburg, TN that they would recommend. I am taking a group of 5 or 6 Airstreams through on a weekend in June and doubt that a state park (no reservations) will be available.

There is a nice state park on the river in Manchester. Lynchburg used to have some spots there in town. Tims Ford is reasonably close and has camping.

Going on the Jack Daniels tour? Miss Mary Bobo's is not to be missed for lunch.

2nd Tims Ford - great location and great lake. On the turn off to town on the main road to Jack Daniels is a VET, day rates for pets was very reasonable - they had our labs all day for $8 each including food and water. Get supplies before getting into that county, it's controlled by JD Inc., and thay do not allow chain ANYTHING in that county - No Walmart or big grocery stores. The tour is free and well worth the time even for non-drinkers, just plain interesting.

We just returned from the area and stayed at Tims Ford State Park for two nights. It was a short drive from there to Lynchburg and was a nice, quiet park. We were there a Monday and Tuesday night (April 18 + 19) and were one of about six in the campground. Grounds were well kept, bath house functional but dated. I think only four sites were full hookups ($25/nite), others just water/electric ($20/night). Sites are back-in and some are small in depth, so check with info center to get a list of sites and lengths. Sites are wide so you can park the TV next to the AS. No reservations at the campground. Lynchburg is a very small town with some shoppes and of course the main attraction is the Jack Daniels distillery. We took the tour, which was great, and had lunch at Miss Mary Bobo's. You must make reservations there for a 11am or 1pm seating. (931-759-7394)
