Campground I-85 North of Atlanta

I'm requesting recommendations for a good campground in the I85 corridor between Atlanta and Greenville, SC. It will be a stopover going north. Ideally with full 3 point hookups. I'd like to stop, stay overnight, and winterize before heading further north.

Chuck, there is a KOA just north of Spartanburg, don't know the exit number though.

There is also Lake Hartwell SP at the Ga/SC line but only a 2 way hook up. John

About an hour north of Atlanta Georgia RV in Commerce Ga. Nothing fancy but full hookups, pull through sites and only $25. Sal

Look at the State Parks and Corp of Eng parks in the area. We stayed at a state park just off the interstate on our way to Greenville

Gosh, if you were traveling up 75 north there's a driveway with three way hook-ups that you could use - currently not in use 😄

I think the definition of "good campground" can vary greatly.

If you are looking for a campground that is close to I-85 with full hookup then Jones RV park on Indian Trail Rd fits the bill. We have stayed there a couple of times when we desired those requirements (close to the interstate with full hookups.) It's not a fancy place but it's just fine for a night. Thanks for all of your suggestions. We are headed up today. Our objective is an overnight stay close to I85 so we can get underway the next morning quickly, and full hookups so we can completely dump the black and gray tanks at the site prior to winterizing. Fortunately it looks like the weather at home will stay above freezing through the weekend so we won't need to winterize in route.

We appreciate the ideas and will have the list with us. Hopefully we can get through Atlanta before evening rush hour and some distance northeast of Atlanta before we stop for the night.

Chuck - Next time you're on that route, don't miss Ft. Yargo St. Park. Only Elec/water but very nice sites and washroom in Campground #2 on the lake and friendly folks. The historical Ft. is a bonus. We made it there after Canopener, got past ATL traffic for the following morning headed north. We stay there whenever we can. /Further on, the Lake Hartwell St. Park just over the line in South Carolina is also quite nice. Loved seeing you and Susan in Florida. More fun soon.
