Campground finder app for Android smartphone
I did a search for Android apps for Campgrounds. Threads I found were more than a year old and apps are developing at warp speed these days!
What late and great app are you using currently that you can recommend. I would like to have something on the smartphone that I can use and trust on the road while underway.
I did install "We Camp Here" last night and it failed the first test I gave it. Looked for a state park a friend uses and it didn't show up.

Allstays has the best app going.
They not only point out the campgrounds, there's user defined options to point out WalMarts, propane and other POI's campers need.
Great investment!

Murrey,
Looks like Allstay has six apps - one for Walmart, one for dumps, etc.
There is one called "Camp and RV - Campgrounds Plus" - cost is $9.99
I am betting this one has all the content the others have but not sure.
Is that the one you use and recommend?
Thanks

The RV Parky App also provides WalMarts and rest areas, and it's free.

We like the CampWhere app, for all public campgrounds.
Good for droid and iPhones, and iPad.

The Allstays camp and rv app is great. Somewhat expensive but worth every penny.

I stand corrected....the iphone APP I mentioned is indeed $5 now...I believe it may have been 'free' initially...I've got it on my iphone 4g...works great even if it now costs $5 - it would be even better to use with the ipads larger screen...
I see they mention that the Android is web based...don't know how that works, don't have one...sorry...

Searched using the app store on the phone and also used the PC with no luck finding this one. Is the name correct?

I found this great free app by going into the Play Store on my Verizon Samsung Android Smartphone and putting in "RV Park Finder". RV PARKY comes up as the first listing. I just tried it again.
Also on my notebook, I can get to it by going to rvparky.com.

Thanks Dennis. Your post caused me to look for RV PARKY on my notebook. At first I tried to Google it, and was coming up empty. Then I happened to look at the Android app on my phone. Right along the top of the opening page it said "RVparky.com".
I have spent the last half hour playing with it on my notebook. This thing is so much better than Woodalls, it will now be my primary source for campground information. Woodalls has kind of turned into junk in recent years. RVpary.com was a great find.

Murrey also recommended this one. I bought it to take a look out of curiosity.
Just a heads-up for others - it is an App/system of iOS origins which is being morphed to Android. It does appear to be very good and the provider indicates they are moving quickly to get the Android version up to complete speed. They just issued an update in January and promise more. They have a nice newsletter as well and also some You-Tube on how to use it (Unfortunately iOS only).
It will be interesting to watch their development efforts.

Thanks Brian for bringing this App forward and thanks Sam for clearing up how to get it.
RV Park Finder (RV Parky) is outstanding for a free App. I have been playing with it and also Allstays which isn't free. As I mentioned in an earlier post here, Allstays really is an App that originated for Apple and is being morphed over to Android. It still has a bit of tuning needed. Until that tuning is done, I would recommend using RV Park Finder. It really is very good and passed most tests I could muster to see how it would work. It found a campground a friend of mine loves that other Apps don't seem to be able to locate.
I can imagine that Allstays will come up to speed in the coming months but it has a display issue on my S3 at the moment in that the icons are so small I cannot see them. I contacted the developer and I am betting he'll have it resolved soon. He tells me Android is a bit of a pain to write Apps for since there are so many variations of the device as compared to Apple.

Allstays works just fine on my Android tablet (running Android 4.0 i.e. "ice cream sandwich"). I suppose the bigger dispay screen of a tablet vs. smartphones makes the difference.
