Smile Campfire Lodgings

Just wanted to say hello from the road. Last trip of the season. We came down to Asheville to see the Biltmore Estate. We arrived at campfire Lodgings yesterday only to find a one year old Flying Cloud on the site next to us. Then, while talking to people on the other side, in pulls a '98 model. This almost constitutes a rally! This is gonna be the last season for this TV, we got here, but it's time to graduate to a diesel.

Love those little impromptu rallys as we've had that happen to us on a few occasions. Isn't Asheville and The Biltmore just wonderful? It has been said that around the Christmas holiday it's even more spectacular! Enjoy the diesel TV, the ultimate in TVs!

How was that last corner and upgrade into the campground?

First time I ever visited CFL I was towing a monster popup with a Ford Exploder and spun out on that section. Had to back up and make a run at it. My new bride was convinced we were going to end up in the French Broad river.

You're right about the drive up. Challenging is one word, crazy is another. But what a view. Off to the Biltmore now.

When your needing an alternative take a look at Bear Creek Camp at the junction of I-40 and I-240, just west of town. We like it there.

4th just pulled in!

OK, a 4th AS just pulled in, a 25' FC, folks from Alabama. Offered me a beer on site. I love them already :-)

Like you, we have an '09 27' FB Classic and last year I sold my TV and bought a Ford F 250 Diesel. It is a great combination and I am quite happy with it. My old TV was a V 10 Dodge so it had lots of power also but I believe the diesel is better. I know it is in the fuel consumption dept.

That is a beautiful campground and we have stayed there a couple of times in past years. In fact, about time to go back for another visit.

Hope you have as good luck in locating a new TV as I did.

Walter
