Camp Gulf

Decided last minute to try for a Florida trip at the end of March and managed to find a spot at Camp Gulf on the beach.

Anyone been to the area and have any recommendations on food and sights?

We spend about 5 weeks a year at CAMP Gulf. The BAYTOWN wharf is worth a look. Lost of restaurants there. The Front porch in DESTIN is a nice and fun place.
Definitely have to make the 20 mile drive to SeaSide.
The Dounut Hole is a cool place also.

Make the drive east to Santa Rosa Beach to Stinky’s Fish Camp (best shrimp and grits I’ve ever had).

Dewey Destin for more seafood. I prefer the original bay location, not the one Harborside. Bacon wrapped crab stuffed shrimp, fried shrimp, fresh amberjack, and crab cakes are my go to items.

Louisiana Lagniappe for crab stuffed grouper or redfish cooked in parchment paper. Crescent City fettuccine (jumbo shrimp with Tasso ham) is another standard menu item that we crave.

Donut Hole has 2 locations in the area. Donuts and key lime pie.

Cool. We’ve stayed down there before. Be prepared for the sand. A small kids pool or wash tub at the door is a good idea. We put our steps in a kiddy pool and step in it before we enter the trailer.
