Camp ground around Orlando?

Anyone recommend a good campground around Orlando Fl. I have looked and most times prefer state parks but in this case it looks like they do not have sewer connection. For this trip with four young Grandchildren EWS is important. I noticed the KOA at Kissimmee but have never stayed in one. The agenda is Seaworld Universal if that helps in our location. Thanks in advance for the information.

Fort Wilderness is great, but if you want to stay somewhere else in the Orlando area, the KOA is probably your best bet. We have stayed there several times. It's pretty nice and centrally located.

There are several private parks in the Kissimmee Area. You are at about a thirty min outbound on them to Sea World via I-4. You will have to check around because the snow birds are HERE- about two weeks ago our traffic quota doubled. The closest state park is an hour north via traffic.

One of the closest:

Sherwood Forest RV Park and Ponderosa RV Park are Passport America parks in Kissimmee

Lake Whippoorwill KOA. Nice.

Grab a lakeside spot.

Orlando has lots of toll roads. Bring quarters.

Couple of years ago we stayed at the Ft. Summit KOA. At the intersection of Rt. 27 and Rt. 4. Very convenient to Disney and they have a free shuttle every day. Clean and pleasant place and we would stay there again. They even gave a veterans discount so if you're a Vet, go for it. We'll probably spend a few days there this year.

PS: Again, if you're a VET don't pass up on the Disney veterans passes. Best deal in the house.

I have heard great things about Rock Springs/ Kelly park. Just checked the camp ground is closed for upgrades... But it's worth a look!

If you are taking the kids to Diseny World, then Fort Wilderness is perfect. It may be a little more expensive but you will save all of the extra and more because of the parking pass you get with the Fort Wilderness site.
The spots are small and close together but well laid out.
They have more rules than any place I've ever been. It's almost impossible not to break some of them. They seem to use this to ask you to leave if they want you out. I never saw anyone ejected while I was there but I'm sure it happens.

We stayed at Lake Griffin State Park, some way north of the attractions. It was good to be out of the rush of Orlando because we had some wind down time scheduled, but as Rodster says, you may not want to scramble with the traffic.

Lake Louisa SP on Us 27 south of Cleremont. Close to the attractions, we saw the fireworks on the eastern horizon at Magic Kingdom when staying there on the way to the Keys.
