Was the GG bridge in a fog?

Wonder if you got to see the bridge when you crossed it? paula

Pillar Point RV Park at Half Moon is beyond belief and not in just price alone!!!!!!!, but it is what we wanted so we paid the price...there is more than enough room to put out one's awning...this place is made for the motor coaches who can pull into the space and over look the ocean, so the hook ups are on the wrong side for us trailer trash...but hey, the silver bullet lends a lot of class to this already classy place

We did drive thru the National Shore at Point Reyes...and i can still tell that i drove the 1 with my airstream....just lagged on a little segment

The road is paved and there is one 5 mph curve to the right about halfway, but plenty of room to maneuver and shouldn't restrict a trailer. Doug notes two marked dips where the road probably washes out when it rains.

The area is as dry as a bone, no electric, no water and NO FEE! A handful of established "campsites", with picnic table and fire ring, but well-spaced and plenty of room to spread out for tents, pop-ups, small trailers, etc. We were the only ones there, and would have stayed a couple of days had we not been booked into Malibu tomorrow.

The little silver spot in the lower left-hand corner is us, , there is an outhouse nearby I wanted to omit while still showing the size of the trees. There was not a sound in the night other than the woodland insects, and no light from anything but the moon. This would be a great place for a rally!

Kingfisher, we are spending the weekend with friends near Riverside, will then be heading back out and will find you next week.

Travel safe.

Maggie
I made an error on directions for this campground----it is a few miles west of New Cuyama, not east. Sorry, I am directionally challenged.

Carol is the one who had the bear try to get in the back of her trailer. I saw the trailer, it's a wonder she got out of there without a scratch. Her dogs chased it off---they are very sweet, big and boisterous and loving, but barked at and scared off the bear.

Malibu Beach RV Park

We are in V1 here, if you look at the campground on the map, and because we are little are backed in parallel to and overlooking the shore.

This is a beautiful campground, there are flowers and hummingbirds at our site. Lovely, pricey, and worth every penny. Life is good.

Travel safe,

Maggie

Maggie, you have to get a camera! Or, learn how to post photos so we can see all these cool things.

I have a digital camera but posting photos is very difficult for me----not sure what I do wrong, but have to make numerous attempts to get anything up. I'll try in the morning when I have more energy.

Getting our coach, "Mahal", ready for our trip south this weekend. We're still in the fixer stage (we're goin to corona so andy can fix our axle) so i've been fixin stuff getting ready for the trip. put a new breakaway cable on, got some foam cut for the side couch/bed, workin on changing out the old shore power plug, got the tv checked out today by my favorite mechanic, passed with flying colors still gotta find one pesky short in the brake circuit and wire up the back light housings, hope my old bargman 99's dont fall off they need to be retired. so do i...

almost ready.

it has been great following this thread. it has developed into a real treasure trove of info. a real pleasure.

we are gonna stay in morro bay on saturday, in the park close to the big rock... i hope we run into some of you guys along the way. that would be great!

GG Bridge

I crossed the bridge some 40 odd years ago on the way and back to Travis AFB on the boubnd for the Pearl of the Orient and our great adventure to win the hearts and minds of the Vietnamese people....

and of courese I was a young man full of all sorts of stuff and the bridge looked shiny and majestic then, as memory recalls..

On the trip across yesterday it looked small and crowded and fogged by 40 some years of idealism falling in a hole

Malibu Beach RV Park

These loaded pretty easily this morning. Don't know why I struggle sometimes.

There are several hummingbirds who are feeding in the flowers by us, the two small birds we think are goldfinches?

Wow,
Just back from our tour up the coasts of CA, OR, WA and then back. Saw quite a few of ya out there, flashed and lots flashed back! The roads were tight in places but all passable and safe, great campgrounds and always lots to see (and take pics of).
Thanks for sharing your experiances and photos. Airstream Life had a great write-up in the last issue, very helpful. We'll post some pics when we sort them all out.

I don't know if we'll get that done this trip, but maybe an early lunch tomorrow. Have pot roast in the crockpot for carnivore husband for dinner tonight.

Thanks for the tip.
