Hey T,
I've been to the burn twice, 02/04 with my AS.
There is an official group of AS represented, it's called BURNSTREAM COURT
They have a news group, search on "burnstream"
and U should locate them, else just find the shinny things on the playa.
Wish I could go this year, next year 4 sure.
Be safe and have fun.

I have attended the last four years! I camp at VW Bus Camp. The first three years I camped in my 1967 21 Window Bus. Last year, I camped in my Pinzgauer (Austrian and air cooled too).
I was thinking on going to BM this year, but I wonder what a week of Playa dust would do to my new AS exterior finish.......

Inspiration and Burning Man
Thanks for the info - I'm for sure attending along with a great artist friend. Thought I'd share my inspiration for wanting to attend Burning Man. It all began last August while traveling I picked-up a few magazines to read on the airplane. ArtReview was one of the magazines along with of course fashion magazines. Inside was a review titled "Desert Flowers" by Daniel Pinchbeck here is the opening to the three-page review. "When I first attended Burning Man in 2000, I did not know what to expect - in fact, my expectations were not very high. I had worked as an art writer and critic for years in New York City, and I doubted that the art aspect of the annual festival - held in the barren Black Rock Desert of Nevada at the end of each summer - would be compelling, or meet my refined standards. To my surprise, the event managed to permanently rewire my aesthetic categories: beyond that, it shifted my deepest conception of human possibilities..." Well I decided at that moment I must attend Burning Man.

Yes, We will be there and I am already working on my costume. yes we have pictures on my site and I have some additional pictures at http://archnevada.com/gallery/thumbnails.php?album=16.
This will be my 7th year and my wife will put her 14th year under her belt. We did take Buttercup out and it was a dream to have. Only difficulty - dealing with gray/blackwater.
I could write volumes on what we have done in the past and what we are doing this year. Suffice it to say that we have a lot of work to do and I am working on a gray-water art project. It should be real cool!!!

Burnstream Court has a web site at http://www.burnstream.net/
You can also go to http://www.burningman.com for lots of information. If you are a first-timer you should read the first-timers guide. You will be more welcome as a first timer than we were going to the International as first timers.
Oh - Did I let my bitterness out??? Sorry - that will not happen again.

I've been lurking on the burnstream list, but the trailer isn't even close to being done. Have fun and take pictures!

There are tons of Airstreams out there. Heck - the founder of the event comes out every year in 2 of them. I could publish dozens of pictures of all the trailers out there that I have seen. And I can't count how many streamers come by for a quick tour!
It is almost like a rally. Except how many of you could say that you gave a tour of your Airstream to a dude wearing a dress or a girl dressed like something out of Mad Max?

hi b cup and other burners.......
i'd really really really,
like to attend a burn,
i've read as much as possible,
looked at the pics (especially the burnstream stuff)
and know this would be fun....
and just my thing......
but the deal breaker,
and i understand completely......
all the reasons why...
.............................no dogs.
but i cannot kennel or board
my old dog anymore
and go have fun
he doesn't do well that way
so neither do i.....
oh well
have fun
cheers

There is actually a very good reason. Dogs are not allowed because they get disoriented by the loud music, sounds, people everywhere and such. They start to wander lost and become dehydrated out on the playa very quickly.
This has been such a problem in the past that the organizers determined it was not a hospitable place for animals. So they are not allowed in the gate.
I don't know about iguanas...

This will be our second year at Burning Man with the Burnstream Court camp. Good people.....great food.... This year we have over 23 Airstreams plus our non-A/S friends.

Hi folks, so great to see more Airstreams at Burningman!
I've been working for the "Man" for the last 7 years and have been living in my various airstreams out there for the last 5. This year will mark the 3rd airstream i have brought out. I am out there for up to 2.5 months depending on the year and job and at least a month.
I lurk all the time on the burnstream list and they are a great bunch of folks. It is also the best advice in the world to start at the Burningman.com website and the first timers and survival guide.
I'm also happy to answer questions.
