I love Mountain View. In nice weather I go downtown to the square every evening and listed to the musicians. More than a few professionals have retired there and play regularly. Jack O'Malley from New Orleans played there every night in the 90's. For music lovers, I'd skip Branson and go to Mountain View. Better music and all free. Food's good there too! No traffic jams.

Eastern South Dakota is very pretty with hills, rivers, and trees.

I drove thru the campground off of hwy 65 just last week. A small, open, no-hook up loop with several sites where you would fit. The river is a short walk away. I'd like to give it a try - just havent looked into the details.

We have floated the Buffalo several times. Check out the Buffalo River National Park. It has a very nice campground.

buffalo river, arkansas

For the past few weeks we have been traveling and investigating the Buffalo River National Park and its surrounds for camping spots.

There seem to be only two spots suitable for airstream camping. one is at Buffalo point just south of Yellville and it has electric and water hookups and is very close to the river. It is in a national park and is not dog friendly...that is dogs are not allowed on the trails

The second is Tyler Bend down the river west of buffalo point and is accessable from Hwy 65 from harrison, ark. It is a beautiful park (a national parks also) and has no elec , water is available in the park. Both have dump stations. Tyler Bend is just beautiful...and allows dogs on the trails...which are extensive go figure why one national park likes dogs and the other does not....

there are many other accessible points on the buffalo river as it extends westward towards its origin near boxley, arkansas. these other spots are tent camping and access for canoeing and kayaking and tubing....

We are at tyler bend now and with all the recent rains in the area it is reaching its flood stage and the rangers have advised us to head for higher ground as the river may crest at 35 ft and mere 6 feet over flood stage....

it is a beautiful and wild river now as it rages with the recent rains
