Great photos! Take care, and be ready to depart the shade of the tree if the situation warrants. Want you taking to us, better than us talking about you in the past tense.....

future with no power

Well the old buzzard boondocking under the Pepper tree has just seen the future. On my wife's need for some French fries I went to McDonald's,you know that place that does not give you ketchup for them anymore. Well when I got to the drive up order place I was informed that it was CASH only no cards.Since you can not get out now you have to wait and drive through. Guess what the 4 car in front of me drove through,Guess they did not have the cash to pay with. Are there that many folk that do not carry cash anymore? What will happen when the hacker shut down the power grid and nothing works no ATM,no cards, how will they get by with no cash? CASH will be king.
Well for my green friends the "packaging from responsible source" and "made with a minimum 37% post-consumer recycled content". I can burn it to keep warm when the power goes out,or maybe sell it for cash to a recycle center.
OK so much for my rant I fell better now and will get off the soap box. ( that a saying from the olden days) .The Dewiler fire is now 75% contained, but has burnt 80,000 + acres.Law enforcement patrolling the area saw a transformer sparking. The house that was serviced by it had the meter bypassed because it was a marijuana grow house. They almost had another fire started.
Well let the power go out. My Airstream has solar,a generator extra propane so me and my white socks red neck and cash I will get by for a while till the government can get here to save me.
Thank you for putting up with my rant it has not been a good hair day.

I just got a set of Stromberg Carlson porch steps.See photo
Here is a very good item if you are from the olden days and need a better way to get in and out of your Airstream.
It is as well made as my Justin cowboy boots or Squarestream both last for ever and it fold up to 4" wide with the removal of 6 screws. It will fit through the Squarestream door with out folding since the door is wider than most Airstream doors.

Sad

Well this weekend I went back to my home town of Santa Paula Ca. All I can say it is 3 times as big 30,000 now from less than 10,000 when I left in 1953.Not the town I think I remember, it now has a rundown look to me,
They say you can never go back and I guess they are right.
Sure glad I live where I do now in AZ,sure beats anything California has to offer me.Here poor roads high prices for gas and ever thing. Don't forget TAX TAX TAX that will fix everything. NOT. They are wasting 20.7 billion it will coast to build high speed rail to no where(Fresno)from no where(Jan Jose)for one of the poorest part of the state.
You can't drown your sorrows, they know how to swim.

Folk's keep telling me if I cant say something nice, don't say anything. So for the past few weeks I have not posted.
Stupid me I brushed the left rear of my TV on a light pole.It must have been out of view to my back up warning system and dumb me I was not looking in the mirror.
Cant help myself I just have to say with the heat we are having here in CA it is hard to keep the AC running because of the power shortage in the heat of the day.
From my passed life when I worked for Connie Kalitta/American International Airways 1984-1996 as a flight mechanic on DC-8,B-727 and B-747.
Now that is saying something nice.

Hot no ac

Boondocking, Castle airport,Atwater, Merced county,California 95301
106F, power voltage so low AC can not stay on.Fans only
The Government here has been saying that there would not be enough power in the heat of the day and there is a heat warning that is in effect till 2100 Sunday night.
2 weeks ago the county had to turn off the water Wen and Thur but turned it on at night BUT Fri Sat and sun we had no water.but they did not tell us that it would not be back on so my water tank was not full,DUMB ME. Our Government had at work? Or I am from the Government and I am here to help you.Do not bet your life on them. Tomorrow I will get a big gen from the hanger to power the AC.
It will start to cool of in about 1 1/2 hours from now.
It could be worse we could be in TX.I feel for them.

Life goes on

Well life goes on.Nothing has changed the last few weeks, still boondocking at Castle airport in California. Just go to work and in my old age my out look of the world and California just keep going south.
As a vet I am mad as hell with the NFL that has no respect for the USA,along with the sponsors like Bud beer.NO watching NFL games for me. Buy Mexican beer so Mexico can pay for the wall and Bud will feel the pain for backing the NFL.
Now the state of California is a sanctuary state, with no respect for U.S. law and now will not enforce them
All that is left is NASCAR no drivers taking a knee,no pit crews arm in arm just good old red necks like me.
We are born naked, wet and hungry and get slapped on our arse, then things just keep getting worse.

Happy turkey day

HAPPY THANKSGIVING to all.
Yep we are still alive and sitting under the Pepper tree at Castle airport.
24 of us from work will have turkey day at the Castle air museum.
shot my turkey yesterday. Scared heck out of everyone in the frozen food section. It was awesome. Getting old is fun.
Would post photo put looks like I have to pay up to get more space to post them.
Drive safe, don't be a crash dummy for your cell phones,GPS, radio or Airstream.

Happy T'Day! Some of the best holidays are with folks thrown together from far afield. Some good things come from new regulations... you can eat that turkey now without worrying about lead poisoning. Just watch your teeth! Seems everything gets brittle with age!! Have a great one under the tree.

I would love to know the story behind that picture. Looks like body damage was imminent.
