Well here I am boondocking under the pepper tree.I am the only one around at this end of the airport this long weekend.Just me and my dog Lucy.
At the other end of the airport are the two DC-10 supper tankers that are working the Rim fire up by Yosemite.
BUT like all good Government run things they did not fly one flight yesterday, and why no one this far down the food chain knows.BUT the fire still goes on.All the area in this part of the valley is under a health warrning because of the smoke.Again the government hard at work. Not that much smoke here, can still see 30 miles or more.
Maybe the NSA spy's can tell us after they read this.
Also this Sunday the Castle Air Museum as open cockpit day where you can go inside some of the aircraft. They do this on Memorial Day and Labor Day.
POOR IS HAVING TO SELL YOUR HORSE TO BUY THE SADDLE

We just moved this old DC-9 from AZ to our base here at Castle Airport for the Castle Air Museum. All most as nice as a Airstream
It was part of the fleet of aircraft used by the President and other important government folks..
I have been told that Presidents Reagan,Bush,Clinton, and Bush used this at times when the B-747 was to big.
Photo 1 The aircraft.Photo 2 Cockpit,Photo 3 the communication operator,Photo 4 First class cabin,Photo 5 cheap seats,Photo 6 part of galley,Photo 7 bath room photo needed to turn 90 degrees
IF YOU GET TO THINKING YOU'RE A PERSON OF SOME INFLUENCE,TRY ORDERING SOMEBODY ELSE'S DOG AROUND.

Glad you like the thread.
I do have fun working after 61 year of working at 14 jobs it is a good life.BUT at 79 I am starting to slow down, it is nice that some one still wants me to work for them.
This work is nice because of all the different jobs we do with the R & D C-130.I have photos that would be nice to post but our customers don't want their competitors to see how they do things.

ScrapIrony are you going to be in the big Q this winter?
I may make it there if I dont have to work. What ever happend to retirement?
A decent cowboy does not take what belongs to someone else and if he does he deserves to be strung up and left for the flies and coyotes.

Don't really know WHERE we'll be, and am afraid to guess...I would LIKE to be in Q next winter, but it took me 3 years to get home this last time
Feel like a visitor in my own house
Need some serious unserious time, somewhere, and Q certainly fits THAT requirement. We're fixin to saddle up and GTT, BUT THAT BACKGROUND NOISE IS EITHER MY FINGERNAILS SCRAPING THE FRONT DOOR SILL OR MY UNASHAMED WHIMPERING...
Ahem, where was I...I'll lobby SWMBO and hope for the best...
