I think Jimmini is going to be busy for a while and we probly wont see an update for a bit. For those following the thread in general a P2V Neptune crashed on a fire in Utah killing both pilots. That company was Neptune Aviation out of Missoula. Usually when a fatal accident happens the Feds slam the barn door shut on the empty stall and order extra inspections and make a general fuss to appear effective. Initial reports suggest the wing-tip impacted the ground. The Heavy fire-bomber (Airtanker) fleet is antiquated and its folks like Jimmini that keep these in one piece and flying. Please keep folks like Jimmini and his co-workers in your prayers. They are part of a huge machine that is protecting us from an enemy we can never defeat: Nature.

I stopped by Jimmini's house last week and the Mrs. Was home. She let me know that Jimmini is doing well and dry camping near Greer, AZ. He is on a hiatus from his work in CA until they receive new funding for the project he is working on. He currently has no Internet access, hence his absence from the forums. He is doing well and I am sure kicking ass & taking names!

Knowing that the folks are is good to know... old folks require an occasional check-up just to verify that the dirt hasn't yet hit the coffin...I love my friends, and 4CU has provided me with an abundance...my white elephant exceeds my last gift, and I can hardly wait to have it opened... batteries will be provided...it's so awful that it will be well-received...you have NO IDEA what a thrift store can provide!!! January/December is anxiously anticipated...may the best person win...m

Talked with Jimmie last week. He is back in Ca. He didn't have a computer and didn't know if he was going to keep up the thread, but he is doing fine. I'll keep you posted if I hear anything. Mike

Very glad to see you back. I added my 1989 a/s fifth wheel with slide to your registry a while back. Have been trying to get information about how many we're produced, and have seen many different statistics. Would appreciate anything you can offer. I have a picture on my registry snuck in with the pictures of my 1957 Overlander. I appreciate all of your informational posts!

Thank you for your reply. I did read this history, was curious what the break down was for the 125 fifth wheels made, argosy made vs airstream made. Do you know why Thor industries either does not know or does not wish to furnish production numbers?

Still going

Just to let you all know I am still around.Had another fight with my cancer but like before I am the winner.
Still working on the old C-130s and having fun doing it.Better than sitting around drinking beer and waiting for the end.
From this to this in 78 short years.

Just curious, where is that Howard 500 located? I have only seen one other 500 and that was at Oskosh a few years back. It was an incredible airplane developed by Dean Howard in San Antonio. He had a thing with those Lockheeds.

I have only seen in person. I still have the Flying magazine which had the flight report on the 500. Goes back to the 1960's. They were a great looking plane. Got to meet Dee Howard a few years before he passed away. He hosted a Quiet Birdmen meetingat his office where he had a complete collection of collectable Packard cars in immaculate condition. He was quite an individual.

Heat

I always said if I need the heater or AC I was I the wrong place.
Well today it got 100 + here so I had to use it and you know what IT WORKED.It put out 50 degree air and that was good. This was the first time I ever turned it on in all the years I have had this old Squarestream.
So all is cool at the old hanger.

one more rodeo...

I guess whining about upper 90's with 80+% humidity is gonna fall on deaf ears...I SAID "DEAF EARS"!...I SAID...oh, hell, nevermind.
Austin in the summer...a good reason to retire to Colorado...
Headed back to an Arizona winter sometime after it cools down there. Good to know you folks are still kickin' and streamin'. I lost my reference manual on retirement, but I thought I remembered a chapter about something called 'leisure time'...i can't find the manual, and don't seem to have the time to look for it

Keep this thing going, so we know where you aren't.
