Boise to Okanagan Valley

We are planning a trip to the Okanagan Valley area in Sept. 2019. We are interested in the enjoying the scenery, wineries, easy day hikes or bike rides, etc. Any recommendations for places to stay, wineries, restaurants, or favorite spots would be much appreciated.

Hope to spend 4-5 days relaxing and enjoying the area in our 28' Tommy.

Thanks!!

We stayed at the Desert Gem RV Resort in Oliver, BC once. It was a typical RV park-- really clean with good facilities, but lots of pavement and big rigs. We sort of prefer the back-of-beyond. Check out this interactive map for BC provincial parks: http://www.env.gov.bc.ca/bcparks/explore/map.html

The last time we were there overnight we stayed in a motel in Osoyoos, at the south end of the Okanagon Valley. We had limited time, so made a list of a few wineries in the area, finishing with dinner at the Tinhorn Creek winery. The restaurant has a beautiful lake view.

Try Kekuli Bay provincial park. They are located south of Vernon right on beautiful Kalamalka lake. The new rail trail runs right through near the boat ramp which allows you to go north to Vernon and south to Kelowna by bike. Some nice wineries in the area and a bit less crowded than the other Provincial parks. There are 4 power sites but if you have some solar you should be fine for 3 or 4 days. We were back from Vancouver Island last year and stayed at Bear creek provincial which has more electric sites but can be very crowded and closed in with not a lot of good lake access. Further south are 2 more Provincial parks just before Summerland. Not as much to do there. If you want to be in the heart of wine country then the Oliver Osoyoos area would be better.
Good luck and hope for no forest fires this year.
