Hi, the first picture is this morning's view from the camp ground facing the street. The second picture is another huge rock/mountain. The third was a shocker; I guess we were on the Bunny Trail. I believe these stupid/brave girls went all the way to the top. In the forth picture, I"m showing on the map, about how far we went. According to the recorded messages on the bus, near the half way mark there is a very narrow pathway that is about 3' wide, no rails, a drop off of 900 feet on one side and 1200 feet on the other. Needless to say I wasn't going that far.

Hi, in the first picture is a looking back down on one of the pathways that we hiked on yesterday. In the second picture, we found a friend, or he found us; On this trail, we made it to the end. Not a real hard one. In the third picture, I'm either getting braver or am about to lose my mind. Glad I didn't lose my step. Do you want to see crazy? Do you? Well look very closely at the forth picture; This is only a very small section of the mountain and there is a rope hanging from it; And there is a mountain climber on the rope. We watched a few of them yesterday and one today.

Signs.

Hi, when you are about to hike up a path and see a sign like in the first picture, you might have second thoughts. Also don't feed the animals, but there is no sign saying don't eat the hikers. The third picture is a sign of one paths we took. In the previous post, with me on steps, is part of it. The last picture is where we are at right now, but will be gone in the morning.

Hi, what is this? Well this is how I start a post when I have poor WIFI. I start with my greeting, then try to post my pictures. If my pictures load, then I go back and write my stories. If my pictures don't load, them I delete my greeting and try again later. You caught me in the act before the finished product was posted.

Well I must say I truly enjoy your pictures and the places you are seeing. Since we "hope" (we retire 12-31, and I am having both knees replaced 11-1-hence the hope) to start taking many more trips after the first of the year, we look forward to seeing where others have been and the good vs bad experiences.

Hi, today we made it to Las Vegas. We stopped at the local Wal-Mart, for goodies and supplies, just up the street from our camp ground. We are staying at "Las Vegas RV Resort"; Same place as last time we camped here. Just after 0-dark-30, lightning started. I tried to take pictures of it, but couldn't figure out how do do it with a digital camera. I did catch some lightning on video though. Now for the last hour or so, we have been getting lightning, thunder, and rain. The temperature is still in the mid 70's.

Hit the strip.

Hi, today Bob and Lee hit the Vegas strip. We wanted to go some place that we haven't been to yet, so we went to the Palms / Playboy Casino / hotel. We decided to try their buffet and we both ate too much, but it was good. While there, we went to the theater and watched Hubbell, in 3-D. The theater was larger than I thought it would be since there were so many in the same building. There was a total of five people watching this movie. I like a peaceful theater. Later we visited the Paris Casino.

Pink Flamingos.

Hi, while walking in the rain, we made it to the Flamingo Casino. While there we actually saw some real flamingos. Next we went to the Venetian, where Lee finally got her margarita and I had my usual, iced tea. I got some Italian ice cream too. Unfortunately, we are headed for home tomorrow. So far all is well with both the Lincoln and Airstream.

Technical problem or operator error?

Hi, I have been complaining about how slow WIFI has been in most of the camp grounds. Tonight I thought I would try some thing different, and it seems to work. On Lee's lap top, if you tilt the screen slightly towards the back, or away from you, the screen looks sharp. I pulled the screen towards me, in a vertical position, and all of a sudden everything was fast. Is this common or has anyone else experienced this?

Never heard of changing the laptop position, but I did buy a high gain antenna—not very big and it plugs into a USB port. It helps a bit. More and more campgrounds are limiting the broadband speed when you try to send photos. Well, what do people do on a trip? — Send photos to their friends. The antenna, which I think I got through Amazon, is made by a company called Ralink. It promised up- and download capability which sold it to me.

I think the way to go now is with one of those "mobile internet sticks" that plug into a USB port and let you use your regular ISP anywhere you go.

Rogers is the biggest one with thsoe up here in Canada, and the coverage is what their cellphone coverage is: nearly everywhere.

$30 a month isn't too bad. Plus, (now this I haven't tried) it should also allow you to call home using something like Skype. I mean really call. For free to another Skype user, or for (I think) $4 a month, to any landline in the US or Canada, no LD fees.

Gotta love new technology, huh?

We made it home.

Hi, this morning we headed for home. I think I have a few more pictures from today. And I shouldn't have any problems posting them. The Lincoln is dirty, but did a great job towing our Safari all over the place in several kinds of conditions. Rain, heat, dirt roads, hills, mountains, and where ever we asked the Lincoln to take us. As for the Safari, it was great too. Although it had two little problems. The large closet door striker plate came loose; Easy fix. The pedal on the toilet sticks in place if pushed all the way down, I think something on the cable control needs to be cleaned or lubricated. I may ask for advise before removing the toilet and tearing it all apart. The water pump was great, but I will further try to silence it, although, we still can't tell if we turned it on or off, so I think I'm going to install a light somewhere that will indicate that the pump switch is on. I'm also going to buy and install some push/on LED lights for use when boon docking instead of depending on flash lights. I have one now in the bedroom and it is great. My new towel rack works great too. And as for the shower head droop problem, before our trip I found a very thin aluminum washer and installed it in the pivot area of the shower head; It worked perfect during our entire trip. [two weeks]

(1.) Picture taken after everything was ready for trip home. I saw the reflection in the window and caught another palm tree almost right above it.

(2.) On Las Vegas Blvd. before we get to the freeway home, this was the last view. New York, New York.

(3.) This is how I hold my refrigerator doors slightly open for storage. One bungee cord wrapped around the bathroom door Handle twice and hooked onto each refrigerator handle.
