Hi, tonight our tour bus with ten passengers went to Canada to see Niagara Falls from the Canadian side. Right off of the bat, the border guards didn't like our driver. Was it because he had a beard? Can't Canadians grow beards so they are jealous or something. Our driver was directed to park on the left side while huge tour busses that came over after us went first. We waited for close to an hour on what was supposed to be a four hour tour. Not mentioning what happened to us to prevent a riot or something, everyone refused to spend any money in Canada. No-one spent a dime while we were there and some said they would never come back to Canada. Did I mention that all four of my Goodyear Marathons that failed were made in Canada, not China. Anyway, I did take some pictures. The American border guard did us a huge favor by getting on our tour bus, asking where each couple was from, taking all of our passports, scanning them and returning them right away. So glad to be back on the American side. We used to love Canada, but not now.

Hi, Cool old pictures that you have Neil. I had to wait until I was old to do what you did as a kid. Lucky you.

8-13-2015.

Hi, we left Buffalo, New York area and drove to Alexandria Bay. We stayed at a state campground for two nights. On 8-14-2015 we took a boat ride in the Thousand Islands to Boldt Castle. Lee got off of the boat and toured the castle and island, While Dusty and I stayed on the boat until it went back to the starting point. Dusty was not allowed to go on the island, but allowew3d to ride on the boat. Some old fogies gave us dirty looks because of Dusty, but that is just too bad. Dusty was allowed to ride the boat and he did some barking, but later just laid down quietly. He was better than most children on the boat, but their parents didn't get any dirty looks.

Hi, we made it to Montreal, Canada; The last question of many, was "if I inspect your trailer, will I find anything?" And the answer was a big NO! I won't go into details now, but our two days stay in Canada was not a good one. We are leaving tomorrow morning and going back to the States.

Amish wagon.

Hi, yesterday we passed an Amish wagon, but it was on the wrong side of the street, and it was too late to stop. They sell farm produce. Later, I saw another one on a corner and slid to a stop. [not really, but close] There was a young woman [at my age, they are all young] in the wagon, with a baby. And there was a young girl tending the goods. [about ten years old] They also had their horse tied to a tree, in the shade, and with water. we bought some cucumbers, some cinnamon rolls, and a small loaf of zucchini bread. This cost us $8.00 for all. Everything was very good.

As long as you made it past Canadian Customs you may as well continue your travels in Canada. Weren't you going to stop by CanAm? Maybe things will get better.

Hi, today we went to Costco for a few needed/wanted items. I stayed in the truck with Dusty because it was too hot to leave him alone without air conditioning. Lee came out empty handed. US Costco was going to stop American Express and change to Visa, later this year. Canadian Costco won't accept American Express and they already made their change over, but Canadian Costco changed to Master Card and we don't have that. Also they will gladly take US money at the same rate as Canadian Dollars, so we lose 30% on each transaction. Bacon at Costco cost was as low as $7.00 per pack; Here in Canada it's $17.00 for the same thing. Massive road construction going on now and two times in town was too much. Detours everywhere and we don't read French. Basically the fun factor is not here. So back to the US tomorrow.

Good, Bad, and Ugly.

Hi, the good is the fact that we were able to find a parking spot down town for free until 1:00 PM, have lunch at an outside café, and have pizza, ice cream, and a cookie. Dusty got some pizza crust so he was happy too.

The bad is the fact that a mosquito bit my right eye. [I believe] My eye was swollen almost shut, but no black and blue, so no-one hit me.

The ugly, is me trying to get around with one and a half eyes when two can't read French as it is.

Hi, the first picture is of the out door café that we ate at. This was the highlight of our stay.

Traffic was horrible due to road blockage and construction everywhere; Caroline hard a hard time directing us due to all of the detours. Even with a police escort, we were stuck.

Then to make things even worse, there was an event/march? So the Police blocked even more streets. Like driving in Los Angelus again, and why we moved.

Hi, this morning we left Montreal, Canada and headed to the nearest U.S. border. The border guard was nice to us. "Where did you go in Canada?" Montreal. "Was it what you expected?" No. "They have a great beer there, did you have one?" No, I quit drinking decades ago. Lee said that she wished she had known about it and had one. "Where are you from?" Oregon. "What do you do there?" We are retired. "Must be nice?" That's what you get when you get old. "Where are you going now?" Vermont. "WHY?" Because we have never been there before. "Don't blink your eyes or you will miss it." "Can I see your registration for the trailer?" Yes, here it is. "Have a nice trip." THANK YOU.

Hi, this morning we left Montreal and cut through a corner of New York. We headed for Vermont; Vermont has beautiful green rolling hills. They probably call them mountains. We stopped for gas and it was a very tight squeeze even though we were the only ones there. I once again managed to escape damage. Sometimes I surprise myself. Later we were at a rest stop/view point. I was walking Dusty when two women in an F-150 pulled up to me and asked about my trailer. They said that they own an Argosy. Then they asked how old Dusty was and couldn't believe that he is 18, in October. Next she looked at my trailer again, and stated, Oh, you're really far from home. I thought that was a New York license plate. [Oregon trailer plates are Orange and Black] We also saw a few covered bridges; I was going to drive though one until I saw the sign saying that 44"s is the limit. Vermont has Ben and Jerry's ice cream factory tour and there was a Maple syrup tour too, but we flew past them and we weren't turning around.

Hi, my eye is getting better with some help from Lee; I was able to see with both eyes today. We stopped in Vermont, at a Costco and got everything that we wanted/needed. Back to normal again. I like the green Vermont license plates; These should be the ones called "Greenies" not Colorado plates. The numbers are easy to read and outlined with a white border. Next thing we know, we are in New Hampshire. We are at a campground called White Birch. Trying to save a dime and not spend money on what we don't need for our one night here, I asked for water and electric only when I was given that choice. While I was setting up, I noticed that this sight did have a sewer connection, but I wasn't going to use it because I only paid for water and electric. Anyway, The camp ground owner came up behind me and said "Hi" and put a padlock on the sewer cap. WOW, do people steal the sewer in New Hampshire??????? I have never seen anyone lock up the sewer cap.

If dogs could talk.

Hi, this morning Dusty went out at 4:00 AM and did everything. [you know what I mean] He was milling around in the trailer, so I made his breakfast for him. Usually, if I make his breakfast too early, it sits until he's ready for it. Dusty ate his breakfast right away. When we had our breakfast, Dusty wanted something too. So Lee gave him some of our scrambled eggs and his traditional Canadian Bacon. Later in the day, Dusty got some of Lee's Costco hotdog. He loves those too. Later he was in the back seat fussing about. Does he need to pee? Stopped twice. Does he need to poop? Stopped again. Does he just want to stretch his legs and walk on grass? he loves walking on grass. Well he di everything [you know what I mean] and was still fussing about. Gosh, I wish he could just tell us what he wants. We got to our camp sight and it was close to dinner time, so I made his dinner for him. Dusty ate his dinner right away and was circling his plate. So I made him another serving of his food and he ate that all right away too. Now he's just fine. He usually has two meals a day and maybe something extra. Today, Dusty was extra hungry for some unknown reason and had about four meals.

Better check Dusty's stool for anything unusual. Does Dusty have all his teeth? My Shih Tzu has lost most of her teeth but otherwise healthy for being 12 1/2yrs old. I don't expect her to last 17 years like Dusty.

Sounds like Canada was a total bust for you. Hope things improve. So for the price of that campground where they locked your sewer do they have a dump station or is that an extra charge?

Hi, Dusty's stool, is and was normal, so he's OK there. Three Vets told me that Dusty had impacted teeth and would most likely need some teeth removed. After his operations, I asked how many teeth had to be removed and they said none. At one time, one of the Vets told me that Dusty had only one tooth missing and there is no record of having it removed, so it must have just fallen out.

I didn't need a dump because we flushed our tanks at the previous stop. I think they might have had a dump station. They probably charge for that too.

Hi, we drove from New Hampshire to Maine; Our last stop was very close to Maine. We drove through Maine to the upper tip, very close to Canada, and we are going to begin touring Maine along the Atlantic coast, on HWY 1. I saw a sign at a Mc Donald's advertising Lobster rolls. Lee said that was one of the things we had to try. Oh well, there will be another Mc Donald's soon. It was a very long drive until there was another one. We did have a Lobster Roll and it was OK. It was cold and not buttery. We plan to have a lot more lobster and other sea foods for Lee. Dusty got a cheese burger. We found a camp ground about 1 1/2 miles off of HYW 1 and we were parked next two other Airstream trailers. One from Pa. and one from Az. They are both red number people and they toured parts of the East Coast and Canada. They said at one time there was 44 in there group. Tomorrow these two go their own way. I told them that we travel alone. Nice people. Greeted us right away.
