Actually better than any place we have been to yet. I didn't count the poles, but they are in the camp ground at about every ten spaces. The poles have sensors [or whatever they are called] for the WIFI system. I will try to get a few pictures of them. We stayed in our trailer because it was 100 degrees out there today.

More Later.
Hi, here is why the WIFI works in this camp ground. Also Boo-Boo sleeping while I'm driving.

One down and many more campgrounds to go in order to have decent Wi-Fi. I guess you could post this victory in modern technology to your other thread, when will they ever get it right (I am paraphrasing here and may not have gotten the title right myself).

You had another opportunity, at 100 degrees, to test out the efficacy of you A/C. You must be home by now.

Hi, this morning we did our tank ritual and hit the road. We needed more gas and made a bad choice of getting the gas just before the Grape Vine. It was about 50 cents a gallon more than a few stations that we past a few miles back. The big rigs were bunching up and slowing down. I usually go into the third lane and pass them all up the hill, but it is illegal and a neighbor of mine got a big ticket for doing that. In the slow lane are the trucks doing 28 MPH and in the second lane are the dummies trying to pass them while doing 29 MPH. Then three big rigs over heated while blocking the truck lane. What a mess. I thought to myself, "it would probably be worth taking a chance on the big ticket versus crawling up the mountain behind these darn trucks". Maybe they should put GAS ENGINES in the big rigs so they would have enough power to go up these mountains. Anyway, we made it home, Marathons and all. No problems with my Lincoln and one burned out dome light bulb in my Safari.

Note: while in one of the camp grounds, another Airstream with awnings all the way around and a 15,000 BTU air conditioner, could not keep cool. And our Safari, with only one awning, not opened, and an 11,000 BTU air conditioner was doing fine. Actually had to turn it down a bit to keep from getting too cold. This says a lot for the small windows, mouse fur walls, padded vinyl headliner, and lack of a sky light.

Boo-Boo enjoying the ride home.

speaking of wi-fi....
When my wife and I first started trailering back in the 1970s, our criteria for a campground was lights, water and sewer.
Then it became cable tv.
Now, it's wifi.... and our silver corridor is notorius for getting back wifi. lol

enjoyed reading about your journeys. I have driven a truck over the grapevine, ain't no fun in heat! but pretty trip!.

Our trailer has awnings all around, mouse fur walls, padded headliner, 15,000 BTU, and two Maxxim three pane skylights that we keep the shades closed on.

Are we going to be too hot, or just right.

If it is really warm outside we keep one of these in the hallway right where the cold air hits the floor.

FanTastic Vent - Product - Endless Breeze

It blows toward the bedroom. It really helps keep the rear area cool.

Hi, Ken; Great idea on the fan. I bought one at Camping World, at our last stop. It was on sale. I wanted it mostly to cool Boo-Boo until the air conditioner caught up. Stopping late in the day, on a hot day, takes a while to cool the trailer. Plan for the future: Buy pickup truck, mount Yamaha generator in the bed, make generator connection in front of trailer, Run generator and air conditioner while driving, stop at rest stops or camp grounds with already cooled trailer.

Another good idea. I've got every to do it except a big enough generator.

A couple weeks ago we were in Colorado Springs for 4 days. The temperatures were well over 90 with no shade and bright 6000+ feet above sea level sun. We could not use the awnings due to the wind. The air conditioner had no problem keeping us comfortable. However it did get a running start at it each morning. The nights were cool enough to do without it.

Possibly more to come later.

Hi, today we broke another record; This is the longest traveled day in the history of Bob, Lee Lee, and Boo-Boo. We left Salem, Oregon at about 6:15 AM and arrived in Lakewood, California at 10:45 PM tonight. [Note: This was sans trailer]

That is a long drive! You could give a college kid on a road trip a run for their money!!

You might have been quicker with the trailer. Going back to Salem will be all uphill.

OK, OK, This was somewhat planned.

Hi, on December 12th we set out to go North. We had places to go and people to see. We made it to Red Bluff and stayed at Durango RV resort. This is our new house.

OK it isn't really our house; This is the club house at the RV park.

Hi, Morning of December 13th. It was cold last night and we woke up to some frost on the ground and some ice on my windshield. This was the very first time that I got to use my snow brush/ice scraper. I bought this a few years ago, after I needed it. I bought it on sale at Target in Brea, California. Gene said that I needed one.

Hi Bob, I recently retired and noticed you lived in Lakewood close to us. I followed your travels and have enjoyed you commentary over the years. I wanted to meet you some day now that I have more time but it looks like you relocated to Oregon. Congratulations I wish you all the best to you and your wife and family. Happy new year

Faster trip this time.

Hi, we made it to Premiere RV Park in Salem, Oregon by the second day; Usually it takes us three days to get there. We signed up for three nights. It was pretty cold here too. The Lincoln and Safari were carrying items for the new house including a new bed. [no mattress] We planned to have our house on Monday.

(1.) Boo-Boo found a place to rest.

(2.) View from our patio door. Back yard needs to be landscaped and fenced. [later]

(3.) No chopping logs here; Just flip a light switch, and instant fire.

Appliance store.

Hi, We went to Kelly's to pick out a refrigerator. They had a nice Chevrolet pick-up on the floor and an airplane hanging from the ceiling. They also had free coffee and cookies. [I like this store]
