Hi, Gene; Right now it's about 10:00 PM here and we should be on our ship by noon tomorrow. I'm using what they call a net-book. I call it a small lap top. It's 11.6"s in screen size. The only thing that I had to use is my European power adapter that I bought in Barcelona. I'm using it for my computer and to charge my camera battery. I think I took about 500 pictures so far. Hang on while I down load them all. Just kidding. We don't have smart phones, we have dumb phones so we left them at home.

Bob, thank you for not downloading all 500 pictures. Is it still a secret where the ship is going? Maybe the North Pole?

Hi, I don't know what that is, so I will say that we didn't have any?

You would know them if you ate them, I would think.

Oval, egg-shaped, pancake type items, sprinkled with powdered sugar, perhaps, served with jam or maple syrup. My Nana made them for me, I made them for my children. Traditional, Danish breakfast.

Too bad for you, if you missed them.

Good friends of ours gave us the link to their cruise ship's web cams. We go on line and view from a camera mounted near the bridge which gave us video of the bow and the ocean as they sailed. Another web cam was in a room that had laptops for passenger use. Your cruise ship have these......or aren't you telling?

Hi, Neil: I'm sure our cruise has that too, but I don't do links [don't know how] We are going to travel starting later today on the "Princess Emerald" just make sure that you don't view the camera in our room.

Very glad to hear you are on a Princess cruise. They are terriffic. I am guessing you are going to several Scandanavian ports and perhaps Russia and Germany. Have a nice trip!

That is a link to the Princess Emerald which is currently on a 11 day Scandanavian cruise. Hopefully Bob will post some updates when he is in port and not have to wait until he is back home.

We went on a Princess cruise in February this year and really enjoyed it way better than Carnival cruise that we had previously cruised on. Princess seems to have an older clientele compared to Carnival that caters to a much younger crowd including small children.

Oslo, Norway.

Hi, after our two day stay in Copenhagen, we went to Oslo, Norway. I have some pictures for you; After all, I downloaded 1,647 pictures from my camera. I haven't down loaded any from Lee's camera yet. Seems as though many of these countries are very similar, but different. Oslo has a nice looking port as seen in the picture. People in the ship's gym probably wondered why I was taking their picture through the ship's windows, but I was actually taking reflection pictures. We toured a Viking Museum; The ships were quite large, but way too small for me to want to sail the world in. Next was a huge ski jump. I don't know if you can tell from my picture, but this is way to steep and high for me to even imagine someone going down it at Mach-I on a pair of skis. They seem to have their own mascot; There is a name for it, but I drawing a blank right now. We were taken to a beautiful park where a famous sculptor has made some really different nudes out of granite. Along the walking path there are many bronze statues made by the same sculptor. I cropped this famous one, called "The Angry Boy" even though it's art, it might offend someone. [hope fully the other one is OK] Then there is what Lee Lee and I coined as the "Happy Mommies". We say that because there are so many of them and how these countries in this area take care of them. These "Happy Mommies" get to take three months off of work with pay, and can stay home for as long as three years. At the end of their three year vacation, their employers have to give them their jobs back. Beware there might be a cop hiding around the corner. From what I've seen, they don't seem to write traffic violations as I have seen so many, but they do write up parking violations and have vehicles towed away.

Welcome back to the www and your connection to the forum. Thanks for sharing your pictures, but 1600+ is a lot of photos, to say nothing of what is on Lee's camera. Can you imagine taking that many shots with film or slides, it would be cost prohibitive from a development standpoint. Thank goodness for the digital age. Look forward to hearing more from you.

Hi, Thank You. And I have mentioned it several times on this trip about my 35mm days. [36 shots per roll if you don't push it] I now shoot, sometimes, over 200 pictures a day and don't care if some of them don't come out because of how many good ones I can take.

Looking forward to more Bob. This is the same Princess cruise we are planning in 2014. So any special insight is greatly appreciated.

Aarhus, Denmark.

Hi, back to Denmark. "Although Copenhagen is more famous, Aarhus is Denmark's second city and largest port." In the middle of farm land, there were some horses. Note: two of them seemed to act like statues. Just beyond the horses was a Stone Henge like thing; It was described as an ancient burial sight. Like other tourists, I went inside, but may be cursed for doing it. Along the highway, next to the beach was a large RV camp ground. Mostly trailers [caravans] and it looked like almost all of them had a patio room attached to them. Some of the old buildings were wood framed and you can see where they are becoming crooked. We also saw some more "Happy Mommies" near an ice cream shop. I believe the little heart shaped trademark is the same as used by Good Humor ice cream in this country. There was an old church where the road split. [cobble stone road] A lot of the buildings were made of brick, this one had a unique shape. And you can see a "Tall Ship" in the back round. Some of the buildings still use a thatched roof; We were told that they are very expensive to maintain or replace and there is a law that these buildings cannot change to a different roofing material. [maybe for historical reasons] Among many well known company names Shell was one of them. The price is in Kroners and estimated to be around $8.00 per gallon, thus many bicycles. After a long day on the tour bus, walking through the towns on cobble stone roads, and taking a few pictures on the way, it was time to head on back to the Emerald Princess.

That (and every other) cruise ship I've seen looks like it will tip over. I guess they have stabilizers underwater, but it sure doesn't look good to me.

But, the photos are great and I hope that doesn't encourage you to post the other 1,500+.

The fuel prices are interesting—what I assume is 92 and 95 octane are virtually the same and diesel more than 10% less.

Hi, I don't know how much of the ship is actually under the water level or how much of the ship's weight is near the bottom. Maybe the huge power train, generators, and whatever else is down there keeps it from falling over. [black tank too? ] But it sure looks like it could easily fall over. Note: at top speed, about 25 MPH, it's as steady as a rock. You virtually feel no movement at all. Sometimes you have to go out on deck or look out of a window to tell it's even moving. [it's that smooth] Please note: Princess ships are made in Italy, not China. I'll save the other 1500 pictures for anyone's viewing when they pay me a visit, in Lakewood at this time.

Bob, that should keep the visitors away.

Here's hoping the ship doesn't tip over like that other Italian cruise ship a couple of years ago.
