Very slow WIFI.

Hi, I will try to post two more pictures for today, if they will load.

Sorry, pictures won't load maybe later tonight when people turn off their computers?

Hi, seems like the WIFI is faster now that it is past 10:00 PM. If I could only do sound too; We might not get much sleep here tonight, it sounds like a war zone. I thought this was only the third of July, but it sounds more like some of my basic training days in the Army. There are sooo many fireworks blasting away that I can see the money burning. The first picture is our sight for the night. Looks peaceful but sure doesn't sound like it. A few hours ago a bottle rocket bounced off of the roof of my trailer. I'm going to have to take a look outside to see if the fireworks are pretty, or just for sounding like bombs. The second picture is the 50 Amp service box that I was prepared for, since I carry a 50 Amp dog bone with me.

War zone?

Hi, I just went out to see some of the pre-fourth of July action and took a few pictures. Although not good ones, you can see what I mean.

Bob,

When we were last in Cal., I found wifi as bad as you are experiencing. All or most of all of the CG's had their wifi run by Tengo and graphics such as photos are almost impossible to load unless you do it late at night or, even better, at 4 am. I often wake for a while in the middle of the night so I'd load photos then. They don't have enough routers and restrict megabytes. We had the same problem in Cortez last week with wifi dropping out at random every evening and I didn't even bother to try photos.

Will you keep going north, randomly, until you reach the Arctic Ocean?

Gene

The quality of those pictures has nothing to do with download speed, but rather shutter spped, IMHO.

A fast shutter speed will capture reasonable clarity of that kind of shot, and of course, a tripod will also help clean things up...

The auto settings of your camera do a great job in daylight, Bob, but like most, they suck in any other conditions than that.

Hi, well today we made it to Canada, Spences Bridge, where ever that is? Dusty passed inspection at the border. Dusty left his gun at home, didn't bring any other weapons, or any banned foods. Dusty has left the country for the first time in his life. It's pretty hot here and today's high was 85 degrees today. At the border I had about six inches space on each side of my trailer. Now we are traveling North on HWY-1 even though the signs say we are going East; Our map shows that we are traveling North, my Lincoln's compass shows that we are traveling North, and we are going North. Canada; I want these signs corrected, please.

Hi, Aage. My old 35mm film camera would have taken these pictures, but these new fangled digital jobs just don't cut it.

Hi, Lili. Posting pictures with a bad WIFI signal is as bad if not worse than my old dial up service. If it will work at all, I have to up-load one picture at a time. Tonight for a usefull signal, I had to bring the lap top to the game room.

Hi, I found the same thing as you with WIFI, but I won't get up that early; I have been known to stay up very late though. Now we have to find a bank so we can trade Dollars for Dollars, if you know what I mean. Last night we had to deal with the 3rd of July celebrations and now we are very close to a large river with train tracks on both sides. We will hear trains tonight.

Sorry folks, no pictures tonight!

Now you know where you are, or were, Bob. This is the warmest part of Canada, but if you keep going north it will cool down.

When we were in northwestern Canada, the wifi got better. It was satellite and in small CG's where there weren't a lot of campers, the demand on the system was not so great. I guarantee we don't get up at 4, I just wander around for a while and then eventually go back to bead and need to be pried out of bed later. It's called "segmented sleep" and was common before the industrial era. Segmented sleep - Wikipedia, the free encyclopedia

I'm getting more and more familiar with "segmented sleep", usually followed by a FLUSH.

Day 5.

Hi, this morning after sleeping to the sound of freight trains all night, we left Spences. I believe you are right Gene, They said it was high desert. We saw three more deer today and one decided to cross the street before we got there. I slowed down, turned on my hazard lights, and honked my horn. The deer still crossed at his own speed, but a trucker passed me on the left and never slowed down. The trucks around here have massive front bumper bars and I bet they hit the deer all of the time. Today's high was 75 degrees with some rain showers in the after noon. So far we have been spending about $80.00 to $90.00 per tank of gas, but yesterday our first tank in Canada was $148.00 / Welcome to Canada! Today I tanked up again and it was only $117.00, such a deal. So far the Lincoln and Safari are doing well.

Rest stop.

Hi, today we found a unique historic rest stop where we had our lunch and walked through the park. There was a small log cabin. There was also a large log barn for Clydsdales, my favorite horse, but it was basically empty. [No Clydsdales] We saw our first bear today, but he didn't scare us.
