Sounds like a great trip. I've been wanting to get info on family friendly things to do in Las Vegas so I'm looking forward to "going along for the ride".

Hi Bob,

Last year was stayed in Vegas as my mom is 81 and had never been there. We stayed at the Circus Circus KOA. It was the most expensive parking lot I have ever been to. Its all about location though. I know there are better places to stay but I kinda wanted to see the KOA airstreams and be downtown. I think it was $99.00 per night. We stayed two nights.. ugh.

Bob, I'll be following you on another random trip. It's much too early to leave here—2 feet of snow last week and it sure is pretty, but traveling will be vicarious for now.

We talked to a guy when we were at JC last year and he said he'd had his sewer hose stolen at the Circus Circus RV lot, so lock up everything. Friends who live nearby have camped there and liked it. Location is important, though I'm not sure it's that important. It seems cheaper to stay out of town, drive in and pay to park somewhere secure. If you win a bundle, you can probably buy a few foreclosed homes in Vegas.

Circus Circus

Circus Circus is a parking lot, it is expensive, it is right on the strip. If I wanted to do the Vegas thing again, I would probably stay there again.

Hi, I didn't want Circus Circus because of some things we heard about it, mostly price. I haven't heard about theft, but that can happen anywhere. We are staying at "Las Vegas RV Resort" a little ways away from the main drag. Check out this link, if it works. Seems like a great place to stay.

True story..

We stayed at the Circus Circus KOA. My mom somehow left her purse / wallet in the restroom at the Circus Circus Casino. As you could imagine not a great thing to happen. Hours later.. we discover that its missing. We tore up the trailer looking everywhere and thought maybe just maybe someone found it and turned it in. I told my wife she was on crack and nobody here was going to do that. We went to lost and found and there it was. The 300 in cash still inside and all her cards in place. Some good samaritan turned it into lost and found. So our experience was 100% perfect for the two days we were there with no issues or problems at all. The staff were great and were were just down the way from all the shiny airstreams..

Vin - I love hearing stories like that! There are still lots of good people in the world, and I'm glad you & your mom got to find it out personally. That must have made your day!

Bob, have a great trip! Vegas is a fun place to visit. Can't wait to hear more about it!

Hi, the other day when I pulled my trailer forward, for access, I did my normal setting of the tire pressures on the trailer and Lincoln. My trailer gets 65 lbs in all four tires. My Lincoln gets adjusted from 26 lbs front to 35 lbs and from 33 lbs rear to 40lbs. As stated on my other trips, from home to destination and back home I will only make visual inspections. In other words, I don't mess with them. As for lug nut torque, the Airstream gets 120lbs and the Lincoln gets 150 lbs. [torque was still good]

Next step was to take my hitch head apart, clean everything, and re-grease the pivots. One of the pivots seemed like it didn't stay torqued on our last trip so I replaced the pivot bolts with grade 8 bolts and self locking nuts. I still installed the lock washers.

Today I filled my water tank, hooked up my water hose, added toilet chemicals, fired up my water heater, fired up my furnace, fired up all three stove top burners and lit the oven. I tested my water pump and vent fans too. So far everything looks like it's ready to go.

Hi, we will leave Monday morning; It should take about six hours to get to the campsight. I guess I should mention Monday, March 1st is our anniversary date. [32 years]

Takes a week to prepare for a four night trip? Normal for us, I guess.

Wife called..............Time to watch the Olympics.............

Congratulations to you. We got our A/S just shy of 2 years ago. Our first year out, on our 35th anniversary, which we spent in sempi2. Last year although we didn't actually spend our anniversary on the date we did take a trip really close. We spent it at the steens mtns, with a airstream group, following a trip to the WA coast at my sisters vacation place. We have several months until our next anniversary (Sept), but we will most certainly celebrate our anniverssary in silver. And love it.
What could be a better anniversary than a campfire? BBQ steak? a martini? and some wine? and a cozy bed in an airstream?
