This must be a first. People from California complaining about the traffic in Utah. We must be moving up in the world.

No WIFI in Fruita.

Hi, yesterday morning we left Wellington, Colorado and continued West. It was cold in Wellington and My Lincoln/Safari showed it. The Rockie Mountains tryed to kill my Lincoln, but we toughed it out. I now call it second gear Rockies. I was even forced down into first gear at one point and there is nothing else I can do if first gear won't pull it. I drove most of the day trying to make it to Utah, But Fruita was as far as we could go; about 25 miles from the Utah border.

Left Fruita this morning.

Hi, this morning we left Fruita, Colorado. Weather was in the 60's with some spotted rain. Unfortunately not enough to wash our setup. We stopped at a scenic rest stop in Utah with a hill top view. Before heading for today's destination.

Moab Valley.

This morning we made it to Moab Valley RV Resort. After getting unhitched and set-up we took a little drive and a lot of hiking. We are at Arches National Park. We spent from noon to dark, in Arches National Park, before returning home. [trailer] Hiking to the famous "Delicate Arch" as seen on Utah license plates is a death defying hike especially if you don't like heights and ledges, but we all made it there and back as far as I know. I guess that's why they call it views to die for. We took over one hundred photos today, but i can only share a few.

Wonderful pictures. You are so kind to share your trips with us. BURR when I was the ice sickles on your Airstream.

I have a technical question for you. How do you make the pictures side-by-side?

Hi, I don't know why the pictures are side to side; maybe it is the photo program or the XP / Vista. The Ice sickles formed from road ice, snow, and rain in really cold weather.

Hi, the hot weather from 35 degrees and slightly upward melted all the ice off of my vehicles. My trailer is rated at 6,300 lbs and my Lincoln is rated to tow 8,900 lbs. If my set-up was maxed out, I would have crawled up the Rockies in first gear or maybe I wouldn't make it at all.
6,300 lbs is my personal max. [unless only on level ground]

Hi, I would love to stay out longer, but this was the last of our random stops before home. What else can we see between here and home? Today the temperature was in the 70's and we're cook'in.

What else can you see? Canyonlands NP, Capital Reef NP, Zion NP, Natural Bridges NM, Bryce Canyon NP, Goblin Valley SP and that's only in Utah. You can come back to Colorado and see more. Nevada has Great Basin NP with the Lehman Cave. You can take the Loneliest Road across Nevada—pick it up in Delta, Utah. There's the Navajo res to the south with national parks and trading posts. And that's just a start.

I think the photos are side to side depending what format they are in—larger ones don't fit, most do.
