Hi, after 3 1/2 months on the road, we had enough. [can't be full timers] We needed to see our dentist and I broke a tooth one day before we got in. We will have more trips in the future, but definitely shorter. If I had time to do the final fix on my generator, things would have been better in all of the hot weather. All in all the truck and trailer did great. Going back over Lee's journal, We did more than I can remember and I hope to post that list with more pictures.

Hi, WIFI willing, I enjoy posting our adventures. According to my truck, we pulled our trailer over 13,000 miles on this trip. Wheel bearings, brakes, and ST tires all doing good. Guesstimating gas mileage at 10.8 MPG. We had higher and lower, but this seemed to be the norm. This truck is a pulling monster; Setting cruise control at 65 MPH or 70 MPH, this truck pulled every mountain that we hit, and held it's speed. [last minute purchases in Southern California meant a very packed truck and trailer] Probably the heaviest ever. Going to 50 lbs in my rear tires was the magic combination for handling. Tire pressure and lug nut torque had to be adjusted because of a tire rotation on the truck. True to my practices, I re-torqued my trailer lug nuts once because the wheels were off for new tires and never once checked tire pressures again after leaving home.

We certainly enjoyed following your adventures and certainly understand the variables of internet connectivity at the various campgrounds. The photos were great. Hope to travel with you again.

Cross country Trip.

Hi,

Summery:

7-1-15. Leave home and head East. Found little towns without gas stations and we were running dry. My new gas can hasn't been filled yet and it's 100 degrees out. we had to pump gas out of my generator into my truck to just barely make it to a gas station. This was a very bad start of a trip. First stop was Vale, Oregon.

7-2-15. Gooding, Idaho to tour the Shoshone Ice Caves. found RV park in Sun Valley, Idaho.

7-3-15. Found a dry camp in Wyoming, but it was too hot to go without air conditioning, so we left. Made it to Jackson Hole Wyoming and spent some time thre with limited parking in an RV parking lot. No over night parking so we had to move on. Stayed at a view point in Teton National Park.

7-4-15. Drove through Teton and Yellowstone National parks. Stayed at a KOA in Big Timber, Montana.

7-5-15. Stayed overnight in a Wal-Mart parking lot in Sheridan, Wyoming.

7-6-15. Drove to see Devil's Tower National Monument and later to a Wall South Dakota camp ground. Had dinner at Wall Drug Cafe.

7-7-15. Stopped to see the Corn Castle in Mitchell on our way to the Little House on the Prairie / Laura Ingall's Homestead. Dry camping was $10.00 per night.

7-8-15. Next stop was at Laura Ingall's Museum in Walnut Grove MN. Stayed in a city park/camp ground in Henderson City, Mn. with water and electric for $20.00 per night.

7-9-15. Went to The Mall of America. Had breakfast there and found a KOA in Alma center, Wisconsin.

8-11-15. We got a visit from Forum member and personal friend, Bob Cross. Bob and Bob toured the town and had a nice lunch together at one of Bob's favorite places. We also toured the Niagara Falls by land and by boat. It was amazing. Lee said it made her cry with excitement, but you couldn't tell because we were all wet.

8-12-15. We booked a tour of Niagara Falls from the Canadian side. Border guard didn't like our tour bus or our driver???? Made us wait on the side of the road for about one hour. [out of a four hour tour]

8-13-15. We left Niagara and made it to Alexandria Bay, New York, to Wesley's State Park Campground.

8-14-15. Toured the Bolt, "Hwy 12" Castle in Thousand Islands. Lee toured the island and Bob and dusty took a round trip boat ride. Dogs can ride the boat, but not go on the island. Dusty and I walked the town.

8-16-15. We drove back to Montreal to see the city. Many streets were blocked due to construction and more were blocked due to a parade / protest march. We were stuck for hours and wanted to just get out of there and back to our campground. we did manage to find one parking space and had a sidewalk café lunch. That was the high light of the day.

8-17-15. we left Montreal and drove through New York to Vermont and to New Hampshire. We stayed at White Birches Campground.

8-18-15. Now we made it to Hilltop Campground in Maine. We had our first Lobster Roll at a Mc Donalds.

8-19-15. Now we are at Acadia National Park KOA. We ate Lobster and Clams at the Trenton Bridge Lobster pound.

8-20-15. Today we drove all around Bar Harbor.

Hi,

10-1-15. Not wanting to be in Texas for three days, I pushed for New Mexico. We found a real nice campground in Los Cruses New Mexico. This was basically just a stop off day and a Night for Bob to do Laundry. [WIFI works best in the laundry room]

10-2-15. As we headed West it was, again, getting hotter. We were worn out and our next destination was Southern, California. So stopping in Phoenix was not going to happen. We found a campground near Quartzsite. Plugged in and turned on the air conditioner.

10-3-15. We made it one day early to our friend's house in La Habra, California. She let us park in her driveway and connect to electricity and water. We stayed at her house before. Good to see her and She has a little dog that gets along well with Dusty. Only she wants to play and Dusty doesn't play anymore.

10-4-15. Another reason for staying in La Habra was so we could see our Dentist. We were going in for cleaning and a check-up. One of my teeth broke today so I called and left a message withy my Dentist. Once again, they pulled through and got us both in at the same time. I needed a new crown/cap and it was going to take two weeks. We were only going to stay for one week. My [Long Beach] Dentist said that I could wait until I got home in Oregon, but we like him and don't have a Dentist in Oregon yet. So I said do what you can for me.

10-5-15. Today, Monday, we went to the Dentist. I got a temporary cap and my real one would be ready in one week.

10-6-15. Dusty went to his old groomer in Cerritos, California; She was so happy to see Dusty again. This is the second time since we moved to Oregon that she got to groom Dusty. Denise loves Dusty. While in the area, we shopped at Marukia Japanese market. Lee wanted some items that we can't get in Oregon to take with us. I also left Lee at Forever XXI.

10-7-15. It was 103 degrees today so we just stayed in the trailer or our friend's house all day.

10-8-15. Another 103 degrees day; Same as yesterday. Stayed home. I did chat with three of her neighbors as we all like to talk about cars.

10-9-15. Also, while there, we planned to visit my favorite Niece [and her family] in Moreno Valley. Many other relatives also showed up. We had a great time together. My Niece and one of her sons were the ones who bought Dusty for my Mother 18 years ago, so they were happy to see this little traveling dog again.

10-10-15. I took Lee to several Korean markets so she could max out my truck and trailer's payloads with things she bought to bring home to Oregon.

10-11-15. Today is Sunday and we just stayed home and rested.

10-12-15. Monday was the day to have my tooth fixed with a new crown/cap. because of my tooth, we stayed in La Habra a few extra days. We needed to get home; I think more for Dusty as this was too much for him and he wanted to be in his house with the doggie door. We wanted to go home too. 3 1/2 months on the road was great for the first 2 to 3 months, then it too much. If you read this summary, you will see that we actually seen and did a lot of things and enjoyed the trip.
