Blue Ridge Parkway

We are going to be on the Blue Ridge Parkway in November - after the park campgrounds have closed for the season. We're taking our AI so we're shorter than with our trailer.

Can anyone recommend commercial campgrounds along the Parkway - not more than 20 miles off the Parkway?

Thanks in advance!

Marion NC..........If they don't have a rally or festival there is still things to do. Blue Ridge is close. Marion had good food. There are a couple big lakes near by. There is a hudge service center, RV park with paved spaces, really big rally space and a large Camping world store. Drive up to the top of Mount ???? Washington.(without trailer) .

Linville Falls...........cute little camp ground tucked into the hills around Linville Falls. Linville falls, Linville gorge, (take the road up to the look out carefully), Linville caverns tour, Blue Ridge parkway and that restaurant made of stone at the center of town are my go to list.

Tenn was upset about not getting the Blue Ridge Parkway so they made their own. See eastern secction..........

It is close to the town of Cosby. This park is between the national park boundry road and the highway. Good access to both. Not much traffic. Close to Tenn Parkway, Gatlinburg and Smokie mountain park Gatlinburg entrance.

We're doing the entire route - from outside of Cherokee, NC to the end in Virginia.

We live on the TN side - not interested in any of that this trip, but thanks.

Just NC and VA.

In addition to the good advice coming in, these search results may help IMO:

https://www.google.com/search?q=Blue...=airforums.com

A number of recent threads and posts.

Have a great trip, and please post your experiences and campgrounds. We hope to get down that way at some point.

Thanks,

Peter

Hi

I doubt this comes as a surprise, but just in case ..... You may have a hard time finding places with the water turned on in the later part of November. More so at the north end of the route. Often dump services go away when the water shuts off (but not always).
