Black Rock Mtn. State Park

Does anyone have experience camping at Black Rock Mountain State Park in Northern Georgia? The website warns of steep, roads with sharp switch back curves getting to the campground. I'm towing a 23' Flying Cloud with a Ram 1500 3 liter ecodiesel.

Thanks

We haven’t stayed there yet but have a reservation for mid-sept.
We have a 25’ FC and read a lot of reviews. Most of the worries are from folks with the larger MH’s and 5th wheels.
I plan to take it slow and easy and hope for no issues

There's a long sharp grade on entrance. We did it on my Tacoma pulling a 22 Sport. It was slow, but nothing to worry about. Campground is one of my favorites close to home.

We scouted out the campground back in the spring. It looks like a great campground, but getting in and out looked like it would be problematic with our 28' Airstream. YMMV
We decided to forgo camping there, just do a day hike. There are many other great state parks in north Georgia that are safer to get in and out of with a trailer, IMHO.

My wife and I camped there a few years ago. We were camping in a teardrop at the time, pulling it with a 4 cyl. Toyota Rav 4. The road up to the campground is indeed steep and winding, but we made it with no trouble. The campground is worth the effort, in my opinion. There are several state parks in that area, and they are all awesome, IMHO.

Update: Arrived this afternoon. The actual road into the campground and up the mountain to the campsites IS winding and narrow. Not sure how two rigs would do meeting on one of the sharp turns.

Our F150 crew cab did strain at times.

I really would not recommend this park for anything larger than a 25’. In fact, 22’ or smaller would be better. Best would be tents, teardrop trailers or pop-ups.

The sites are a mixed bag of small and medium - all back-in except for one.

A few look really hard to get into.

We are staying for a week but probably will not drive down the mountain until we leave.

Would not want to try this in the dark or rain.

Just my 2cents.
