I put my bikes on a rack when I travel locally, but I'm just not willing to do it on our trips that last 2-3 months and cover thousands of miles.

Has anyone tried using foldable, portable bikes that can be stowed inside a TV shell? I saw an amazing example on a Bay Area ferry used by a regular commuter that folded up into a very managable package and seemed durable.

I have two marine grade folding bikes. They fit nicely under the dinette of my 28 International. I have also carried them in my F250. They are very convenient to take along.

Re: Folding Bikes inside Cab-Height, Pickup Bed Cap

We have Montague folding mountain bikes. They go in Costco plastic storage bins and fit in our SnugPro (cab-height) bed cap. PortaPedal Bikes of Tempe, AZ, (the local bike shop where we got bikes) also carries Brompton bikes, which fold up smaller; but price and the fact that our bikes are ridden off pavement made Montagues a better fit for our use.
