Big Big Trip...11 Day Countdown!!

stressing out...must write to release stress.....

We weren't supposed to leave on the big cross country trip until the end of June. But, the people that want to rent our condo while we're gone, have to move in on June 11th. Being crazy, we said, sure, that we can be out before then.

So much work to do before we leave, since we have to clean up, and move stuff around, and hide and lock stuff up, etc.

Plus, there's stuff to deal with in the Interstate too.

Super excited, but freaked!!

With the extra time we'll have for travel, we're gonna head north, to the Portland area, and then head east from there. A complete re-route of our trip plan. Well, we didn't really have much of a plan, so I guess it's no big deal to scrap it for another semi-plan.

Just ordered a TPMS that should arrive by Wednesday. My anti-bug ThermaCell units just arrived today. Got vet records signed by the vet yesterday (to enter Canada). Pulled out the front TV yesterday (so glad...lots more head-room in front...banged head on that thing a bunch of times)...Pulling out the second row seats on Sunday.

We are actually leaving right behind you on June 17th for Texas and then on to North Carolina. Can you say 6000 mile shakedown?

We will be leaving NC headed north and then west, as far as Idaho, in a week or two (no schedule). Glacier NP, Rushmore, and Yellowstone are our destinations, but we have no real travel plan nor have we made any reservation. I'm not stressing, but I'm having a hard time getting my DW motivated. We have only been home for 7 weeks this year, so she's balking a little.
Tow vehicle is serviced and ready. I'm pulling the trailer wheels in the morning for the annual bearing lube and brakes check. Then I will be cleaning the trailer inside and out next week. After that we (I) will be ready to load up and go.

Hmmmm, that's not stress, it's excitement.

My suggestion: concentrate on getting your condo ready for the renters, and what you need into the Interstate.

If everything is not unpacked and put away in there when you leave, don't worry about it. You can work on that on the road, pick up groceries, etc. You will be gone, and that by itself will be fun.

We headed south in January, more than once, in temps so frigid we just tossed things in the Interstate and did our unpacking and organizing the first few nights, as we got into more comfortable temperatures. Once you're on the road it's all good.

Travel safely, and have a great time.

Remember any long trip is just a bunch of short trips strung together! You will have a great time! A road service such as good Sam can also give you a sense of comfort. Jim

Yes, I should say "I'm very EXCITED," (not "stressed")!

We have Good Sam roadside assistance, as well as Coach Net, so we should be fine there.

Having some issues with our batteries, so need to get that straightened out this week. If unresolvable, we'll probably be buying new batteries this week. Oh well. It's just money.

And really, who's complaining? Vacation just got a couple weeks longer!!!
