I did all i could to avoid buying another Dyson. we have 2 in the house, a full size and a cordless. They work great but I was hoping to find something a little cheaper for the airstream.

Once I read all the reviews I could, it seemed the prices keep creeping up and up for the features I wanted:

1. cordless
2. bagless, well, actually cyclone tech so you get 100% suction..
3. cope with pet hair on a rug.

The last one was the biggie. as soon as you try dealing with the fur from a Husky then yo need a wicked powerful brush and great suction.

In the end I found a refurbished Dyson V6 on Amazon with a bunch of attachments for $230.... I still baulk at the price, but the next best candidate was a Hover 2-in-1 cordless for $180 and that has a filter that can clog...

We are very happy with our 18 Volt Lithium Ion, Hoover that we purchased at Walmart. Have used it for two years now and it still performs like new. It has a roller function in addition to the vacuum which does a great job on Bodie's dog hair.

Well we ended up with a Shark Rocket. It is corded, has a power head and can be used as a hand held. It also breaks down into three pieces for easy storage.
